Strangely enough, with the Olympics over and last week’s hallucinations now a thing of the past, getting back to Days regular storylines was somehow unrefreshing. Maybe that’s because the almost pointless, though pleasurable, meandering of last week had fewer flashbacks and likely will rarely be flashed back to in the future. One of the things that made Nicole’s film noir fantasy sweet was that we would never have to go through it again… and again. It’s not as “green” as the current Bo plot, which is so filled with recycled flashbacks, he must have shaved in a bid to further clarify what was past and what present. With the concentration on the hospital set over, the plot lines are now spread all over the globe and just as discontinuous as before. Suddenly, it appears as though Bo’s tabloid outing was practically planned. He didn’t actually destroy evidence, only a copy of the evidence to flush John out. Paul conveniently escaped from John’s dungeon and is running around in the shadows. Roman, once again agrees to do what the Salem PD does best – bend the rules. Proving once again that even the mob have higher ethical standards than the cops.
This week, Nikki and Victor have a little chat! Emotions run high.
Meanwhile, Nick and Victoria are stunned when they read Victor’s letters, but what I’m really looking forward to seeing is Victor and Adam’s shocking confrontation! Er, I wonder if it has anything to do with Adam’s decisions at Newman, especially with the new CEO, Brad! How is that going to go over?
We also found out that Eileen Davidson’s returning to the show on a permanent basis, which we’re loving! We won’t see her until September 26.
While I can feel joy in the air emanating off of Liason fans (based on our cliffhanger*), as a loooooooong-time General Hospital fan, I would be remise not to discuss Laura’s awakening first. So here goes. The more Lulu fell apart, the more Laura came out of her trace in order to help her. Lulu’s confidence grew as a result of her mother’s calm and cautious listening to the tale of how Logan met his maker at Lulu’s knife-wielding hand. In the end, Laura assured Lulu that she will be fine as soon as she is able to let go of her guilt. She promised Lulu that she is far stronger than her mother ever was because she can remember everything about that night. Laura, on the other hand, has big blank spots in her mind where she hides.
Next up – Liz and Jason! In addition to all of Spinelli’s medical problems (to be recapped below), he still holds to his theory that Stone Cold is sleeping with the Slavic Seductress and is in grave danger. He called Liz to his hospital bed and asked her to save him! Not sure how to proceed, she calls Jason and asks him to meet her in her art studio ASAP. Of course, Jason rushes over and she tells him of Spinelli’s fear. Jason shakes his head (as he is getting so good at whenever dealing with the Jackal) and denies any such sexual encounter. Liz says that she is relieved and that she was jealous. She tells him that she misses him and that people have secret affairs all the time and that they should be together no matter what. When Jason can’t deny his love for her, she rushes into his arms for a big, hungry kiss. The cliffhanger of all cliffhangers for Liason fans to be sure. Read the rest of this entry »

There have been changes to the show this summer and we’ve seen new pairings. It’s lead us to create this new poll, “Who Do You Want Paired?” We’re going to make it interesting by adding a few names that aren’t couples, just to shake things up. I hope that I didn’t miss anybody!
Feel free to comment on who you’d like to see paired. Maybe TPTB will see this and take it into consideration. Stranger things have happened!
Edit - I’m so sorry about not adding Steve and Kayla. There were so many couples that these two slipped my mind. I can’t add them because it’ll remove all of the other votes but please accept my apologies. Please cast your Steve and Kayla vote below!!! I knew I’d miss someone. In the future, Matt will be posting these and I’m sure he’ll use the cast list to ensure he doesn’t forget as I have!
Owen may have been arrested for poisoning Eric, but that didn’t mean Lt. Baker believed his confession. While he and his son Charlie debated the case, Owen received numerous visitors in jail. First, Donna came to see him and he convinced her he only confessed to protect her and warned her that she may still be in danger. Then, Stephanie and Ridge came to see him separately, but Owen stuck to his story of wanting Eric dead so he could scam Donna. Finally, Marcus came to visit and Owen told him he didn’t do it and that Marcus needs to protect his mother.
Donna went home to reminisce about Eric and was attacked by an intruder who told her to stop trying to figure out who poisoned Eric. After that incident, a freaked out Donna fled to Big Bear for safety. She called Marcus and Brooke to tell them what happened and that she thought it was Stephanie who attacked her. After Donna’s phone call, Marcus went to Steffy and they bailed Owen out.

With Nikki in Mexico grieving for Victor, Nick arrived to hear that his mother had been drinking, but the Newman’s were filled with relief when the body found from the boat’s wreckage was not Victor – but of the man he vowed to make pay for his wife’s death! Although Nick thought he had his mother in tow for the plane ride home, Nikki snuck out and stayed in Mexico to search for her soul mate, Victor! And thank goodness she did – or else she wouldn’t have come across a very-much ‘alive’ Victor Newman on the beach!
Back in Genoa City, while Jack continued to boost the sales of Restless Style, even through a little self-bashing of his own, Sharon rushed to Nick’s defense during an all-out company argument, leaving Phyllis and Jack to question her loyalties! Speaking of family companies, across town more havoc raged on, as Victor Jr., aka Adam, slipped into his father’s shoes at the helm of Newman Enterprises with grace and began cleaning the corporate house immediately with the firing of Victor’s right-hand man and longtime confidant Neil Winters and his half-sister Victoria – then hired Victor’s nemesis, Brad Carlton, as CEO! However, the highlight of the week was the reading of Victor’s Will and hearing that Adam was left the bulk of Victor’s estate – and Newman Enterprises!
We’ve heard all summer about the “conversations” going back and forth between Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) and the powers that be at General Hospital. We’ve been all but assured that it’s only a matter of logistics until a deal is struck to bring her back to Port Charles for a little while. But SoapOperaFan has just learned that “our” Brenda will be a resident NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle” starting September 24th. Read the rest of this entry »
