Career Highlights in Soaps: Hogestyn joined the cast of Days of Our Lives in 1986 and has played one of its most popular characters ever since. He previously had roles on “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” and “Generation”.
Claim to fame: The soap press has given him several awards recognizing his sex appeal.
Trivia: He was drafted by the New York Yankees but had to leave professional athletics behind after an injury in 1978.

Corday and staff are crazy to let their top stars go. I wish I knew the real dish on it. Deidra sanf John have a lot of class by not talking—but I hope they will be more forthcoming and let us know the real truth of their leaving. I’m still trying to decide if I’ll keep watching when they leave.

I’ve been watching DOOL since it started in 1965, even gave up “As the World Turns” when they overlapped. But I’m at the point of giving it up now. They’re not just going after the famous 18-34 demographic, the story seems to be directed at the under 25s.

I AGREE THE CHARACTERS ARE ALL BEING TAKEN OVER BY THE YOUNGER GENERATION. I TOO HAVE WATCHED SINCE 1965 AND TAPE IT EVERYDAY WHILE AT WORK. GET RID OF MELANIE, CHELSEA, MAX AND NICK AND BRING BACK JOHN AND MARLANA. YOU’LL NEVER GET DEVOTED TEENS LIKE WE WERE BACK IN 65

There is really something missing on Days now that Marlena & John are missing. There is such a void in the continuity. Wherever are Sean and Belle sailing around the world with their daughter, and no one talks about them. There are many strange disappearances on this show. I am about getting fed up. Bring back John & Marlena, or else………..

I love Drake as John Black, he needs to come back. He is really missed!!
