Career Highlights in Soaps: Aside from her extraordinarily long stint on Days, Reid also appeared on As the World Turns as Grace Baker from 1958-1962 and as Rose Pollock on The Edge of Night (1964-1965) before coming to Salem in 1965. During the past seven decades, she’s appeared in films, TV and had a respectable career in theater.
Claim to fame: She has been nominated for two Daytime Emmys and won several Soap Opera Digest awards. She’s most well-known for being one of the remaining original cast members of the show, having been with it since its first broadcast.
Trivia: She and her late husband, Philip Bourneuf, were the husband and wife team for the Bucks County Playhouse for several years in the 1950s.

Why did they take MacDonald Carey’s (old Dr. Horton’s) voice off the hourglass at the beginning of the show & again at the half? The replacement is close but not the same. I know it’s been years, but it’s just not the same.
