General Hospital Comings & Goings (New!)
Here is the current scoop on who is coming, coming back, not yet coming back because she accepted a role on primetime, moonlighting on Night Shift, honeymooning but won’t be missing from the action, and making her tiny debut on General Hospital:
*Although ABC never verified that were trying to sign Tom Pelphrey (‘JB’ from Guiding Light until recently), a CBS trade mag is reporting that Pelphrey turned down an offer to come to GH as, get this, Connie’s son, because he didn’t want to commit to a long-term soap role.
*Rick Hearst has signed a new contract! He’ll be around for the “forseeable future,” according to a show spokesperson. That’s great news for Rick, his fans, and who knows, maybe even Claudia!
*Peter Allas (Vito) will be on hand starting September 23 to play Olivia’s brother.
*Leslie Charleson will be moonlighting on GH: Night Shift on October 7.
*Vincent Pastore’s Maximus Giambetti will first appear on Monday, September 15 and is slated to appear on six episodes. Look out Max and Milo, Daddy’s home.
*Baby Scrubs will make her debut on October 29. She might only be a plastic doll at this point since there is no news of the infant’s real-life name, but a new character is born!
*GH is casting for a ”sexy, dynamic, brooding and intensely soulful” dark-haired male actor in his twenties. Hmm, if only it was a red-haired actor we’d know who was coming back from a coma…
*Rick Springfield will be back in time for Noah to become a grandfather.
*Lisa LoCicero (ex-Sonia from One Life to Live, ex-Jocelyn from “Loving” and “The City) will first appear on September 19th in the recurring role as Kate’s cousin Olivia.
*Vanessa Marcil has accepted a recurring role at NBC’s “Lipstick Jungle”. The nighttime sudser starts its fall run on September 24th. Does that mean she won’t be on GH any time soon? Nobody is saying that, or much of anything, in fact.
*Finola Hughes has lots more screen time coming this fall. And, her crossover stint on Night Shift begins on September 30 for the final 3 episodes of the season.
*Julie Marie Berman and her new hubby Mike Grady will be honeymooning in Hawaii in September, but fear not, Lulu won’t be absent from Port Charles at all.
*Genie Francis has already wrapped up her taping, but is scheduled to return to tape shows that will air during November sweeps.
*John J. York (Mac Scorpio) will appear on GH: Night Shift’s 7th show of the season as part of Tristan Rogers’ medical storyline.
*Contract status: Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Steve Burton (Jason) both have fall contracts that are coming up. Sarah Brown’s is good until January. After that, it’s anybody’s guess! (SoapOperaFan.com will be sure to let you know as soon as we do.)
