Matthew Borlenghi (Mayor Marino, Days of Our Lives) will be one of the celebrity golfers in the Gary Player Invitational. The event will be held from September 28 – October 1 at The Falls and Vineyard courses in The Cliffs resort community in South Carolina. The 90 celebrity and professional players included on the roster features names like golf greats Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Charlotte Mayorcas, as well as actor George Eads, baseball player Tony Womack and actor Kevin Sorbo. This year’s tournament will be benefiting two different charities. Zest Quest, a South Carolina not-for-profit children’s health initiative dedicated to educating and inspiring children to live healthier lifestyles, and The Player Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization providing quality education for underprivileged children.

This four day tournament has been the US’s leading Pro-Celebrity charity golf event for the past ten years. Aside from the tournament, there will also be hikes, receptions, golf clinics, breakfasts, an auction, a gala dinner, a putting challenge and more. For his part, Borlenghi is already an accomplished and in-demand player on the tournament circuit. He’s quite confident going into this tournament, boasting an 8 handicap!
