General Hospital Weekly Summary from November 3 - 7!
The love fest continues for all but a few. Granted, some of the love wasn’t overt (hint, hint, Sonny and Carly), but careful observers saw it nonetheless.
Let’s start with the most touching this week, shall we? The birth of Emma Grace Scorpio Drake was anything but boring, but in the end, it all worked out. While Robin was laboring (Patrick wore his tux shirt throughout the entire week!), Kelly announced that the baby’s cord was wrapped around her neck. They held out as long as they could in an effort to try to avoid a C-section, but in the end, they couldn’t let the baby’s heart rate drop any lower. Grace was born, and after a brief HIV scare, was proven to be healthy as can be. On the other hand, Robin’s blood wouldn’t clot and she slipped away for the majority of the week. Maxie, Anna, Mac and especially Patrick all had some pretty wonderful things to say as they anxiously awaited Robin’s awakening, and in the end she came around.
Also ranking high on the emotional meter were Luke and Laura. When Scott and Laura locked eyes with Luke in front of the LA hotel, Scott peeled off and Luke stole a cab so that he could follow. A high-speed chase ensued and Scott ended up crashing against a guardrail on top of a cliff. He was knocked out, and Luke practically crawled over him to get to Laura. Scott was pushed out of the car in time to avoid plunging over the cliff, but Luke and Laura didn’t. Laura was able to pry Luke out of the car and as soon as she could tell that he was okay, she smacked him in the face for not being honest with her about his marriage to Tracy two years ago when she woke up. They found a deserted cabin, but Laura made Luke sleep outside. In the morning, he faked a heart attack long enough to get her to open the door and then he slipped inside for some hot coffee and a warm conversation. Laura understood that he would move on, but resented his dishonesty. Luke openly discussed how his relationship with Tracy started with ‘con’ and ended in ‘connection’ and Laura didn’t begrudge him his feelings. They both agreed that they were amazing together and kissed. My heart still aches over it and that scene was over an hour ago.
Meanwhile, Lulu, Nikolas, Lucky and Tracy worked together to try to find Luke and Laura. After breaking into Scott’s hotel room, the cops granted Lucky a ‘professional courtesy’ and let them off the hook. Nik, however, was proven not to be a US citizen and was threatened with deportation!
Back in Port Chuck, as Sonny sank to the bottom of the harbor, Carly plunged into the water and worked ferociously to save him. Turns out, she was about to meet with Karpov when she saw his men stab Sonny and attempt to make him fish food. She was able to get him back to her place and nurse his wounds, but at the expensive of reconciling with Jax. He, suddenly, wanted to give their marriage another shot, but she told him that now isn’t a good time for her. Sonny urged her to go with him, but when she was in the shower, he couldn’t keep his mind off of passionate moments from their past. Guess what, Carly couldn’t keep her mind of them either. Big surprise, eh? Nonetheless, they kept themselves on the ‘up and up’ and she brought his gun to him. On his way out the door to kill Karpov, she told him that attending his murder trial would make her bad year even worse.
Sonny found Olivia on the waterfront confronting Karpov for shooting Kate. Karpov was surprised to see that Sonny was alive, but not for long. Sonny shot him several times as Kate looked on.
Sam had a rough week, too. She was injured slightly in the waterfront explosion, but Jason took him back to his penthouse for safety sake. She filled him in on her espionage work and explained that she has been trying to expose Jerry’s role in the Port Charles counterfeit prescription problem. When she finally left Jason to go home, Jerry abducted her and took her to a freighter to die. He explained that he’s going to make it look like they both died, but he’s going to make off with the drug shipment and start over.
That’s pretty much the scoop for this week guys. Do you have anything to add? Post your comments below and let Soap Opera Fan Blog readers know your thoughts about what’s going on (or ‘going down’) in Port Chuck.
