A tragic accident occurs, many find comfort in Paris, and others are faced with harsh realities!

While everyone worried and searched for Katherine, as well as finding out from the rehab center that she hadn’t shown up, Katherine’s car swerved off the road, went through a guardrail and over a bridge! After Nikki and Jill found the car, with only one body inside, they grieved for Katherine, who they found dead! Once word reached everyone who loved Katherine, devastation erupted inside the Chancellor Estate - and throughout Genoa City.

Katherine’s death taught Neil that time was precious, which led to a marriage proposal to Karen - and she accepted, only after witnessing the close bond between Neil and Tyra!

Adam panicked about the meeting with the Feds and was warned by Heather not to hold anything back about Jack’s part in the selling of the diary! Though he made it through the questioning, seeing the forger brought-in in handcuffs, on an unrelated charge, had Adam - and Jack - worried that he’d rat them out!

Nick and Sharon toured France, unaware that Phyllis was searching high and low to surprise her husband. While reminiscing about old times and their children, Nick ended up kissing Sharon - and Phyllis witnessed it! After Phyllis ran off in shock, Nick admitted to Sharon how right the kiss felt, to which Sharon reminded him of how he left her for Phyllis - and refused to engage in an affair with him now. Phyllis left Paris undetected and went home to Genoa City.

Ashley managed to get through to Victor in Paris, who emotionally held on to her for dear life - with a passionate kiss and an afternoon in bed, to which Victor admitted to feeling alive again! Just when Victor asked Ashley to stay with him in Paris, they read a newspaper headline about Victor’s diary murder confession! No matter how much Ashley wanted Victor to go home and fight the allegations, he refused to step foot in Genoa City ever again! Ashley later returned to Genoa City for Katherine’s funeral and refused to give Nikki any information about Victor!

Noah and Eden bonded over everything they’d lost in life and found themselves drawn into a kiss - and a fight with some local boys in Paris! After everyone ran at the sight of a security guard, including Eden, Noah was caught. Just as Jack called Sharon in Paris, and heard Nick’s voice in the background, Nick got word that Noah was in jail! While Jack was left stewing in jealously back home, Nick and Sharon arrived at the jail and not only found out what happened with Noah - but met Eden, who appeared and ran into Noah’s arms! Nick was surprised to find out that Michael was Eden’s brother then called Michael, who scolded his sister but was happy that she was okay.

With word of Katherine’s death reaching Paris, Sharon, Nick, Noah and Eden returned home, as others were still grieving and making arrangements for Katherine’s funeral. Amber made a deal with a publisher to print Katherine’s memoirs, to keep her memory alive, which left Jill furious, and demanding all copies of the manuscript, just as she returned home from the funeral parlor - and saying a private goodbye to her mother, one in which Jill felt as though she had let Katherine down. While Jill announced that she’d be taking Katherine’s place in the family business, with Cane and Billy by her side, Nikki said a private goodbye of her own to her best friend. Jack tried to smooth over things with Sharon, and lied again when an FBI Agent showed up to question him, but she wasn’t receptive in the least and continued to turn to Nick in regards to her issues with Noah.

Upon her return, Jack questioned Phyllis about the vibes he’d picked up on between Sharon and Nick, but Phyllis denied any such thing - even after seeing them kiss in Paris! However, after Jack left the tack house, Phyllis had a breakdown, tore the place apart and cried about her husband’s infidelity - but wasted no time making love to Nick when he returned home!

At the funeral, a vision of Marge appeared and was shocked to see all of these strangers, Katherine’s close family and friends, including Brock Reynolds, Nina Webster, Traci Connelly, Dina Abbott, Danny Romalotti, Mitchell Sherman and Gina Roma at her funeral, until she realized that everyone thought it was Katherine in the casket! Watching everyone grieve for Katherine, Marge vowed to help her - like Katherine was trying to do for her! Just as Mitchell informed Jill that Katherine made some changes to her will, Victor appeared, ignored Nikki, infuriated Jack and took to Ashley’s side!

When Marge’s ghost returned to the accident site, she found Katherine’s lifeless body in a ravine then disappeared from the scene - never noticing the slight movement of Katherine’s hand, which proved she wasn’t dead!
