Days’ James Reynolds’ New Job at Veterans Affairs.

As Days‘ Abe Carver, he’s just been elected mayor of Salem, but in real life, actor James Reynolds has also received an honorable position.

The former Marine was named chairman of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 2009 National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans. This position will see him leading the VA’s annual patient recognition program. This will involve him inviting the public to visit and honor hospitalized veterans during the upcoming National Salute Week, February 8 - 14.

Reynolds has maintained a busy schedule in veteran’s related affairs over the years. Last year he was honored by the Beverly Hills/Hollywood NAACP Veteran Affairs and Armed Services Committee for his contribution to the United States Armed Forces. Currently, he also serves as the national spokesperson for more than 131,000 volunteer serving veterans at VA facilities. In addition to that, he regularly tours with the USO and has traveled the globe from Cuba to the Mediterranean, and from Kuwait to Afghanistan to support the troops while they are serving overseas.

Soap Opera Fan Blog sends our congratulations to James on this new honor and commend him for his dedication!
