Days of Our Lives Comings and Goings for December!
Here’s the latest on the Comings and Goings at Days of Our Lives!
Breaking with one of Days longest traditions, Frances Reid will not be seen as Alice Horton on this year’s Christmas episode. (By the way, Days will not be pre-empted on Christmas this year, so don’t forget to watch.)
Doug and Julie (Bill Hayes and Susan Seaforth Hayes) will be returning for Christmas. They’ll be making a trip to University Hospital to visit the sick children there. This year, the children will be played by the friends and family of the cast and crew. Included among them will be Nekia Jackson, Alexis Quasarano, Caitlin Brogdon and Fabienne Wente as candy stripers; and Jaclyn Griffin, Cortney Brogdon,Hannah Talavera, Victoria Talavera, Mikayla Flora, Jackson Penfold, Briana Johnson, Nathan Weber, Ryan Weber, Matthew Grzeskowiak and Jack Tassis Daggenhurst (Kristian Alfonso’s son) as the children.
Blake Berris (Nick Fallon) will be leaving in January 2009. The departure will be story dictated. (Read more here.)

Frances will be missed but I hope she is alright…her health is more important than filming an eppy though…@ her age now…

It won’t seem like Christmas without Frances but as Lisa said, her health is more important. My mom is 93 and in pretty good shape but does have her weak days. If Frances reads these posts I’d like to wish her a very happy and healthy 2009.

Merry Christmas Francis. You’ll always be Grandma Horton to us all.

It won’t be Christmas without Mrs. Horton! But given her age, I hope they are doing what is best for her. She’s a true legend!

Merry Christmas Francis(Alice) We still love you and miss you.

Nicole must be an idiot. Does she not think Stefano will not do a DNA test. And if she does get Sami’s I hope it is not a match. Let her tell EJ the truth and let them try for another. These are Lucas’s children. He and Chloe just don’t jive-no chemistry.

WE WILL TRULY MISS YOU FRANCIS, YOU’RE AN INSPIRATIONS TO US ALL.

It’s not going to be the Horton Christmas we all know and love without Alice Horton. It’s too bad, with today’s technology, that they can’t super-impose Alice into a few shots…oh, wait a minute…that would costs nano bucks to produce, wouldn’t it? And…since they HAVE TO get rid of vetern actors to keep this soap afloat, I guess costs are way too high. What they should do is FIRE THE WRITERS and they could save a whole bunch of money!!!

Francis I would just like to say as a male viewer I have watched you since I was 10 yrs old and I am 45 now and it will not be the same without you for Christmas you are in my prayers and thoughts

Francis will be truly missed this year, as Christmas with Mrs. H was always something I looked forward to. I hope the new year will find her feeling well. I am glad that Doug and Julie will be there though. They are a pair of my old favorites. At least some of the vets will be about to bring us some Christmas cheer.

How old is Ms. Alice Horton? I have been looking forward to seeing her. I will miss her. She was always a great actress. One of the few true actresses. She is beautiful. with out cleavage and short shorts as with all these new girls. The last time I saw her on the show she looked as though she had had a stroke, so I too hope she is doing well. I will pray for her. Alice, I hope you have a Christmas that is Merry and a New year that is VERY Happy !!!

I hope they don’t have Nicole get Sami’s baby. That is so predictable. It would be nice if the writer’s could come up with something original. Nicole telling EJ the truth, now that would be original.

Frances IS Days. I’ve watched Days since the first year. Alice was always a central character. Christmas with the Horton clan won’t be the same without her. I hope that her health is not too bad. Frances is a great actress and true lady. Best wishes for the Holidays!

On a very big and bright note,
The Hayes’ are coming in for christmas!!!! Yeah! Bill and Susan are my all time favorite soap couple (both in real life and on Days). The show is never better than when they pop in. I wish they could retool the show to revolve around them!
Merry Christmas! Will miss Frances this time. Maybe the show could do an occasional remote from Frances’ house…..

Frances turned 94 this month, God Bless Her!!!

we’ll all miss Mrs. H. but as everyone says her health is much more important.
Maybe they can do some flash backs.
As for the Nicole/Sami/EJ story its time for her to fess up to EJ about losing the baby after all it happens to someone everyday.
As a veteran watcher of this soap I will say that when Marlena and John are gone so am I what a way to kill a show.

Even on years when I wasn’t watching the show regularly, I always caught the annual trimming of the Christmas tree. I will miss Frances Reid and hope she gets better.

send Melody back to her mother she sucks. Let the dr tell Ej his baby is dead. Have Max start to look for his mother. and let good on Steffono find out he put a hit out on his grandchild and its mother would be more interesting then the Melody or Nicole story line

Frances will be truly missed by all who have watched her over the years as the patriarch of the Horton family. We all love and admire her….she’s one of a kind.
God Bless and a very Merry Christmas

To get rid of John and Marlana and it looks like Kate also, and keep all those kids turns me off this soap. When they are gone, so am I. This baby thing with Nicole, isnt that a rerun of John and Kristen? Even if Stepheno does have DNA done, it will show it is EJ’s child if Nicole ends up with Sami’s baby. New Writers!!

What a wonderful actress with such a wonderful part. The matriarch with
love, morality, kindness, honesty and respect for her Creator. Now isn’t THAT a soapbox novelty? Thank you to the producers for not taking that away from her. God bless you Frances Reid. My all your days be full of love and peace.

I am so sorry not to be seeing Francis Reid this year even if it was in an old clip. I am glad they are continuing with the annual Christmas story reading!!
As for the way the show is going..Like I have said beore…
Please write really good storylines for all the actors expecially the VETS and just end Days Of Our Lives. I have watched from the beginning and hate this dribbling away of a once GREAT soap. It is like watching your pet die in agony when you could do something to put it out of it’s misery. Please just make everybody happy and contented and yell “That’s a Wrap” THE END Then you could create a new soap with the actors from Passion, DOOLs and Another World. Now that would be something to look forward to!!!!

Get Real! Get rid of Lexie, Abe and Theo, Dr. Daniel the pervert and the new Dr. from General hospital. Keep marlena and John here.

Cut the crap with E.J. and Nicole. She is making him look like a big fool. I hope it doesn’t go on forever. They don’t belong together. She’s a skank. He belongs with Sami.

Merry Christmas Francis. I love you always and wish you the best of health. I’ve watched a clip of Christmas past with you and got the true meaning of Christmas. Thank you for all your time and devotion to DOOL and the fans.

Alice and the ornaments have been a holiday treat for years. She is missed.
Now as to Nicole and the baby. You just know she is going to end up with Sami’s baby. So if they do a DNA test it will show that baby is EJ’s.
Comment added January 5th, 2009 at 2:48 pm
I am not liking the story lines lately! Nicole day after day chasing after a baby, Sammi and Raef day after day with no story, Max, Melanie, Stephanie, Phil, Chelsea, Steve, Kayla, Tony, Stephano, Brady…wow where are the stories, the passion, the excitement? It is just darn right boring and repatative! Hope and Bo have a bit of a story happening and Chloe, Lucas and Dan a little bit of a BORING sega. WRITERS please wake up and do some writing!

I have stuck with dool
3
I have watched dool from almost the begin of the show. It has often gone off into strange storylines and I have been a loyal
fan…..however get rid of John/Marlana and other vets and I am out of there. Time for a good book shut off the tv!!!!!
Comment added January 7th, 2009 at 12:08 am
I love mostly every part of the show, but I think that you should consider bringing back the old shawn and belle.

SICK OF NICOLES FAKE PREGNANCY
GETTING BORING TIME TO GET A LIFE PLEASE GET RID OF THAT STORY LINE

I have watched DOOL since the first day it aired. I am 72 years old now. I agree with some of the people in here. Marlena, John, and some of the oldest are the ones who have kept this show going. Get Rid of Melanie, she cant even act. Get EJ with Sammie and start writing like you used to do. Things are getting out of hand now. Half of the stories make no sense.
Comment added February 9th, 2009 at 4:11 pm
I am so upset this year that they did not have Alice there for the Christmas celebrations. Every other year they have had her sitting in her chair and just talking to everyone while they did the tree. I feel they should have had her there even if she had to be in bed to do so. I miss her terribly and Days is not the same without Gran. Francis we love and miss you and wish you would come back now and then for the consistency of the storyline.

Mrs. H will surely be missed. Christmas on Days won’t be the same. I have watched the show for 44 yrs and plan to continue. Glad Julie and Doug will be there to carry on the Horton tradition.
