Saying Goodbye to Days of Our Lives’ John and Marlena.

Thanks for the memories!

This week saw the completion of the John and Marlena story. That may be hard to believe for some viewers, especially when saying goodbye to a couple that had such an unbelievable history. While the supercouple was reunited in the past few weeks at super speed, viewers got the chance to catch a few flashbacks to their romantic history. One of the most startling things on display was how much of their past was actually about reminiscing about their past and John’s inability to recall it. It’s one of those rare occurrences when the audience actually knows more about the characters than they could know about themselves.

Soap Opera Fan Blog invites you to take a look back at these clips of some of John and Marlena’s famous moments and stories.

MY FAVOURITE MOMENT WAS WHEN JOHN WAS -

The years are over and I bid goodbye to John and Marlena as well as Days. The best thing about them was the love they shared and always fought for to be together. God speed to the best soap couple to ever grace the television sets of America! Good bye! Much love and thanks for all the memories!

  3. From FROM DOROTHY I

Well they are to many scenes that are really enjoyed them in

I’m sorry I don’t feel the writers gave them a good farewell for being your two best veterns on the show for 23 years they definetly deserved a better send off

not to mention the past months has been about Nicole’s fake pregancy something postive needs to happen for Sami and Rafe or I feel Days of our Lives will be numbered

  4. From longtime fan

Why take away veteran actors to save money? Get rid of the newer people–lots of them–to make up for the value, integrity of the older stars. Easy to let go of Melanie, Philip, KATE (ugh!), DANIEL (a real sleeze bag dr), Nicole (why didn’t she stay away?) Chloe and even Chelsea. Now THAT would save money and we could get back to the better actors with decent storylines!

Their chemistry. I’m sad that we couldn’t have had at least a few months of them together, happy, and in love. Very sad. I missed it all. I enjoyed when they lived together in the penthouse and were happily married. I would have liked to see a little of this before their final goodbyes. It won’t be the same at all without them on the show. Who is next? Bo & Hope? Then there will be NO MORE DAYS.

The best JM storyline was “the affair” in 1993. Neither my TV set nor I ever recovered. Sexy-cool is an understatement: plane-sex, doing the tongue-tango on the boardroom table that blew Sami’s mind forevermore, even more “Night Sins,” hot springs skinny dipping, and endless mouthfuls of strawberries. Whew!

  7. From Nicole Vargas

I began watching DOOL in 83. I suffered through all those years of JM finding their way to one another. I stopped watching when DOOL fired Deirdre & Drake. That was low & dirty. If that’s the way DOOL writers treat loyal fans, then dedicated fans of 25 years will treat them the same way– disloyally. I have.
