Every day, Chloe seems to be further alienating herself from the people in Salem. Too bad for her that her mother is so far away… and that she only scolds her when they talk on the phone. We haven’t seen Patrika Darbo, the woman who plays the diva’s mother, for quite awhile, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t catch the actress elsewhere on the TV dial. Read the rest of this entry »
And the winner of this year’s award goes out to One Life to Live’s Larry Carpenter! From all of us at Soap Opera Fan Blog, congrats on your latest win!
Previously Reported on January 9:
The 61st Annual Director’s Guild Of America has just announced this year’s nominees in their Daytime Serials category! Though the award ceremony won’t take place until Saturday January 31 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, lets not wait a moment longer to announce the nominees in Daytime Serials!
This week, on Y&R, secrets are revealed, memories come forward and promises are made. Friday February 5 is the last day that you’ll see Brad…so stay tuned. After 20 odd years of playing Brad, Don Diamont is looking at getting on sister soap, Bold and Beautiful! Good luck to him.
Here’s what you can expect to happen Tuesday until Friday… just a few teasers!
Colleen and JT continue their search for Brad and Colleen reacts to finding his abandoned car. The search is stepped up. Meanwhile, all hell breaks loose at the hospital with little teenage Eden, who sneaks out of the condo (I’ve no idea how that worked, since there’s usually only one door in a condo and Lauren and Michael were in the living room, where the front door is…but we believe, right?) and goes to the hospital, where she dons scrubs and visits beau, Noah. Of course, Michael and Lauren find her there and taker her home – by her ear. Or at least, they should. Brat! Is she annoying to you as she is to me? She certainly is to princess Abby. Meanwhile, Jack and Victor have words regarding Jack’s role as Noah’s stepfather. Like dogs, marking their territory, these two. Victor especially. Phyllis is turned away from driving to the cabin and arrives back at the hospital, where Jack takes her home. There, they commiserate over their failing marriages and discuss whether or not Sharon and Nick are having an affair.
Engagements broken, engagements fixed, engagements in limbo and more reasons for Victor to bark some insults.
Ever the vigilant lover, an increasingly paranoid Elvis questions Brady about his true motives with Nicole. Of course, he has good reason to be concerned, though likely not for any reason he would expect. Although Mr. Black has tried, countless times, to wash his hands of Nicole and her mess, he just can’t manage to stay away. No doubt making things worse for everyone involved will be Victor catching Brady giving Nicole money from his safe. Victor’s already parted with enough cash for her sake and is sure not to be compassionate. Could either Nicole or Brady be talented enough liars to pull themselves out of this? Perhaps sensing further problems, or being completely oblivious, EJ finally sets a date for his wedding to Nicole. Read the rest of this entry »
A lot of viewers have been wondered where Bo’s recently developed superpower will lead him. This week, it appears to be leading to tragedy. After spending days trying to prevent it, Bo’s grisly visions come true once again. This time, the impact is personal as Hope and Kayla get caught in the crossfire.

Sharon on Paris, style, and the future of Daytime!
Soap Opera Fan Blog was so pleased to be able to sit down and speak one-on-one with the gracious and forthcoming Sharon Case of The Young and the Restless. She was so generous in taking questions, that the interview will be published in parts, with the first installment here, and the remainder on our sister site, Soaps.com! We began by asking Sharon about herself.
Soup, good health and interesting storylines, oh my!
Fans of the ABC soaps All My Children, General Hospital and One Life to Live will notice this month that their shows will be incorporating some healthy-themed events into their storylines!
It’s always interesting to me how easy it is for fans to forget that their favorite soap characters aren’t actual people! To that end, I decided to do an interview series to help us all keep everyone straight! One of the actors I went to was a personal fave, Carolyn Hennesy, who plays the fabulous Diane Miller. Here’s how she differentiated herself from her character:
Soap Opera Fan Blog: Describe your idea of a perfect weekend.
Carolyn: Tuscan countryside, lots of friends, a little writing in the morning, cooking for the rest of the day, big feasts at night, walking in the village (there has to be a village!). Good company and good food.
Diane: Going over legal briefs, then going over other lawyers’ legal briefs looking for mistakes, feeding my pet snake, plowing through half a bottle of Scotch, rolling around with Max, having Kwan (my houseboy) cook our steaks just theway we like them, singing along with Ella F.
Guess which character is dressed in fashions from Target?
Soaps.com, our sister site, gets so many questions about who is wearing what that we’ve started going directly to the source for answers. Mary Iannelli, the head of wardrobe for General Hospital, always graciously takes the time to clue us in on all of the blingy details. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s starting to look that way. For months now, the internet has been abuzz with rumors about who is leaving the cast. After the departures of John and Marlena, people have been waiting to see which other vets could be departing.
On February 2, Thaao Penghlis (Tony DiMera) stated this on his website: “Must say my gratitude to all of you for all the support. Can’t wait to write this chapter. At least I’m in good company and I did live through the best of Days. And what a great group of people who have been there to share it with me. Onwards and off to NY this Thursday for meetings. Changes are in the air…I’m fine and so is Leann (Hunley, Anna). And a great part of me is relieved.” Read the rest of this entry »
