Exclusive Interview With Days of Our Lives’ Rachel Melvin.
Many fans were saddened by the recent news that Rachel Melvin (Chelsea Brady) decided not to renew her contract with the series.

Here’s a taste of what Rachel had to say: “I had never really anticipated being on a show for more than a year, much less three. I think booking Days was a nice little surprise; it was fun for a while and I had always said that I would continue to stay there as long as I was challenged. It’s not that the show is simple for me at all anymore, but I think a year ago before the writer’s strike, I had just decided I was ready to move on to other things and being that there was an impending strike I didn’t really know if it was the best time to leave. To make a long story short, I just decided to stay and then throughout the year it just became more clear to me that the next time my contract was up it was definitely gong to be time for me to go and just explore other options because it was something I needed to do artistically.”

i just hate hearing that rachel is leaving the show.
but maybe she is thinking of her future, since we have been told the show is being axed in 2010.

sorry to say but i didnt like the charactor of chelsea. to me she was a bore and killed her baby brother. and didnt land in jail. and she was trouble for hope and bo i am glad she leaving . but i love days of ours lives.

Sorry to see her go. I was just starting to like her character.
This show is going to be boring if all these young people leave. Hope to see her on primetime.

This was my favorite actress. I am so sad to see her go. What a dissapointment!
