The Young and The Restless: Clementine Ford The New Mackenzie Browning!
She’s coming back!
We last saw Mackenzie Browning (previously played by Rachel Kimsey) in April 2006, but now the character is about to make her way back to Genoa City – and has been recast by actress Clementine Ford, daughter of famous actress Cybill Shepherd! So, who is this new actress, and what will she be bringing to Mackenzie next month?
Although this is Clementine’s first Daytime gig, she has appeared films such as “America Pie,” “Bring It On,” “Cherry Falls,” and “Last Goodbye,” as well as some Primetime shows. As for what will bring Mackenzie back to town, stay tuned, as she’ll make her first appearance on April 1. We’ll keep you posted on the storyline, as no spoiler information has yet been released.

I’m excited about the return of the character but not the choice in actress. Clementine Ford looks nothing like the previous MacKenzie’s and I’m not sure how she arrived to getting casted for this part. I understand she has an impressive acting background and famous mother, but this casting decision is very disappointing, considering the successful ones Y&R has recently made. Perhaps if she grew her hair out (as displayed on this website), I can imagine it, but based on her debut today, she looks way too mature to play the part of MacKenzie Browning.

I am excited too – I think it will be a great storyline with the marriage of Billy and Chloe coming up. After seeing her yesterday (she cut her hair shorter) she looks quite a bit like the last actress who played her – so I think it will just take a little getting used to – but nobody will beat the original – she was awesome!

I HATE THIS ACTRESS AS MAC!!! She is way to old and looks more like the age of Jill. If they don’t recast soon, with anyone but her, they will ruin the much beloved story line between Mac and Billy.

I like Rachel Kimsey better. Sorry but Clementine looks old. Maybe she needs more make up or something because she looks like she never had a sleep for a long time. Maybe cover those eye bugs.

Geez!!! I couldn’t be more disappointed. There is no one like Ashley Bashioum (sp?) as Mackenzie. I agree with all the comments so far about this actress. My mouth dropped open when she appeared and I even yelled out loud it was so shocking to me that Y&R could even fathom this woman as filling the role of the kind of girl Billy Abbot would be in love with. Where is the magic? Gone, I Please recast Mackenzie NOW. say.

Horrible casting job…I was looking forward to Mac coming back, but this ruins it. She looks way too old and is very robotic. Sorry, but it’s just not going to work, especially with Billy.

Saw her with her real life mom on “The L Word” and she was great! Ofcourse she looks tired…she just came back from a 3rd world country not a spa! They had to make her look tired and worn out. It would not have been very convincing had they made her bright eyed and well rested looking. Give them a chance and lets see where they take us.

I don’t like to use the word hate, but that does describe how much i don’t like the actress playing Mac. Not only does she look to old to play opposite Billy Abbot, but there is no chemistry between them. I am fast forwarding through the painful Billy and Mac scenes.

I think what I am not liking about the new actress is how little expression she shows. She just looks sad with everything she talks about. A little expression might make her appear younger. Maybe this is what Y&R is going for and there is a good reason that will unfold. But, it is making it very difficult for Y&R fans to feel connected in the scenes. If it is the actress, recasting should be considered. If it is the writers approach, some changes should be made.

I’m so glad that others share my exact thoughts – Clementine is/was a bad pick to play the role of Mackenzie Browning. I’m all for Ashley Bashioum – the original Mackenzie returning to the show – she was beautiful and perfect for this role…great actress! And what’s the deal with the bags under Clementine’s eyes?

I to was so surprised by the new Mac. Although I’m sure she is a wonderful actress, she just isn’t right for the part. She looks more like Jill’s long lost sister than as Mac. And sadly she does seem too old for Billy. Please recast.

I can’t seem to get beyond the expression-less actress. She shows no emotion, very BLAH, no personality which the other actress portrayed. She does not fit at all into this role or character…doesn’t work for Y&R…very dissappointed….to see her with Billy makes me want to puke. It is not believeable at all….can anyone say re-cast?

I went online to see if anyone else dislikes this new MacKenzie as much as I do. She looks SO MUCH older than Billy and Chloe, and there is no chemistry whatsoever. I find myself rooting for Chloe over Mac, and can’t imagine how anyone in casting chose such a drab, uninteresting character to play opposite Billy. I do something else when there are any scenes between Billy and MacKenzie, as they are just downright BORING!

horrible choice for mac….absolutely horrible. the actress just looks so old and ragged compared to the youthful chloe and billy…it’s just really bad casting. i hope they change her soon…i don’t even want to watch her!

Out of all the actresses who must have auditioned for the role of Mac I can’t believe they picked her. She’s driving me crazy. She has no emotion whatsoever. Dry as a bone. Get a new Mac ASAP! By the way, it’s great to have the old Philip Chancellor III back. He just happens to be my age (47). I remember him from when we were both teenagers. I’ve been watching forever.

OK. First of all, she does not look at least 40 so quit exaggerating. I didn’t know, until reading these comments that people are as shallow as to want chloe and billy together because they think they look ‘hot’ together. In reality, they would make a pretty superficial couple and not to mention unrealistic. I guess it’s all about looks these days, how stupid of me to think otherwise. By the way, calling her ugly is a low blow. If you don’t like the pairing of billy and mac don’t insult the actress’ looks because of that- it only shows other people how shallow and disgusting you really are, but I guess that’s what you’re going for. (Clementine Ford) is GAY. I agree that she has no acting skills and is “dry as a bone.” I don’t know why Y&R would cast a GAY woman to play the love interest of ANY man on the show! She certainly doesn’t have “her heart” in it. In fact, I hope Y&R isn’t “leaning toward” a gay storyline in the future. If that happens, they have lost a viewer that has been with them since the beginning of the show. And please get rid of Abby – talk about NO ACTING SKILLS!! Get rid of her – “now” – .

Mac is one of my favorite characters on Y&R and I was so excited she was coming back. However, I’m extremely disappointed in this casting. Clementine does nothing to portray the Mackenzie Browning that I know and love from the past. And the Y&R writers have even found a way to RUIN the reunion of Billy & Mac that I have been waiting for for YEARS with this new Mac and new Billy. The only redemption Y&R can make for me is to recast Mac with someone with SOME personality (or even just bring back Rachel Kimsey) and have her reunite with JT, cuz I loved Mac & JT also ♥
