Days of Our Lives Nominated for Daytime Emmys.

Although they aren’t famous for being favored by the Emmy’s lately, Days of Our Lives has proved to be a strong contender in this year’s nominations.

In fact, they received a coveted place among the trio of shows nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. In the acting department, Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) picked up a nod as Outstanding Lead Actor for his stalwart work as Salem’s intrepid and stubborn cop. Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali) was also given a nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the psychotic mob daughter who abducted Kayla and tried to make “Patch” her sex slave. After becoming John Black’s philosophical adviser, among other things, she left town.

Younger actors on the series also fared well this year. Rachel Melvin (Chelsea Brady) picked up the nomination in the Outstanding Younger Actress category for her work as Salem’s bad girl turned good. Blake Berris (Nick Fallon) and Darin Brooks (Max Brady) were also recognized for their work in the Outstanding Younger Actor category.

The series also picked up nods for its directing team, Outstanding Achievement In Music Direction and Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Live and Direct to Tape Sound Mixing, Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction and Outstanding Achievement For A Casting Director.

Nominations for younger actors, writing and the behind the scenes work will be released later today and we will keep you updated if the show receives more nominations.

Seems like the marjority of people up for awards have been or are being writen off. Whats up with that? Maybe they’ll keep or bring some of these people back….. just a thought. It would be sad to have all Days awards go to people who aren’t around any more.
