Jennifer Gareis is taking a break!

The City of Militello Val di Catania, Italy granted Jennifer Gareis (Donna, B&B) and her family an honorary citizenship on May 8.

The event was organized by Sicilia Mondo, a worldwide organization devoted to the promotion and preservation of Sicilian culture, officiated by the city’s mayor, Sindaco Antonio Lo Presti and attended by thousands of members of the press and public.

Before the ceremony, the Gareis family rode a horse-drawn Sicilian cart through a celebratory procession, which was accompanied by a traditional Sicilian band and a medieval flag-waving troop.

Enjoying a little time off, Jennifer (Donna, B&B) is heading to Europe. Her first stop will be in Lucerne, Switzerland to present an award for Rose D’Or Academy for the 49th festival for entertainment television.

Afterwards, the actress is planning a stop in her great grandmother’s hometown of Catania, Sicily where she will visit the home she lived in, as well as the church where she was baptized. Gareis will also be bestowed with an honorary citizenship while she’s there!
