Lori’s Last Word on Days of our Lives!
A look back at this week’s Days!
The week started out with Daniel writhing around during a dream of Chloe. I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed a character actually having a wet dream and I never care to again! That scene made me hate them even more.
So aside from the ridiculous plan of Philip sneaking into the morgue via body bag to rescue Stephanie, my only problem with this storyline is Owen. Which I guess is a big thing since he is the main villain in it right now, but I can’t tell if he is crazy or just simple. I’m just not getting a firm grasp on where he’s coming from and I don’t really like him. Although, after the scene where his father freaked out over the instructions regarding Philip’s ‘corpse’ I think maybe their ‘simpleness’ is genetic. I like that the story is bringing a lot of characters together and I love that Brady is the voice of reason and is also helping out, but can Stephanie please get out of that drawer already?
One of the best things about the storyline is Victor. He is so great at being vicious and it really has been too long since he’s been able to unleash the full force of it. Even his comments to Chloe, who has no part in the DiMera/Kiriakis feud, are great. I was also glad that Victor confronted Bo on his contempt for him as a father. That issue goes largely untouched upon and it was a nice added moment.
As for the DiMera side of the feud, this is the kind of couple EJ and Nicole should be: united and on the same page. I’m so glad she knew what was going on with his involvement in kidnapping Stephanie and supported him. It’s much more fun than him yelling and threatening her and her crying all the time. They are cut from the same morally skewed cloth and this is how the couple should continue to be written.
I am definitely a Sami and Rafe fan, but come on, they just started dating and he’s already going to adopt her baby? I’m totally on Caroline and Arianna’s side of this issue. How about they date for a while, actually say they love each other and then pretend to be a family? Just a thought.
I did love Sami’s reaction to Rafe telling Nicole about him adopting Grace though: “Are you going to update your Facebook status now?” Funny stuff.
That’s really all I got for this week. I am enjoying what’s happening on almost every front, so there’s not a whole lot to rant about this week. I’ll be back in two weeks with more thoughts on Days, but until then, check out Matt’s Musings next Friday.
