Usually a reliable player at the Daytime Emmys, General Hospital only received a few nominations this year.
The series got the biggest nod for the work of its actors. Veteran performer, and frequent Emmy winner, Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer) got the nomination in the Outstanding Leading Actor category. Fan favorite Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) was also recognized for his eccentric and entertaining performance. His onscreen partner also received notice. Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) and Julie Berman (Lulu Spencer) have both been nominated in the Outstanding Younger Actress category. Read the rest of this entry »

First relief, then paranoia…
It’ll will be a time of mixed blessings for Carly next week. She finally gets the news that she’s been praying for, but things quickly turn sour and jubilation will turn to indignation. Michael may not be comatose, but he’s hardly happy and he’ll have some pretty harsh words for his mother. She’s heartbroken, not that such a thing will stop her from blaming Jax and accusing him of turning her son against her. Although they aren’t famous for being favored by the Emmy’s lately, Days of Our Lives has proved to be a strong contender in this year’s nominations.
In fact, they received a coveted place among the trio of shows nominated for Outstanding Drama Series. In the acting department, Peter Reckell (Bo Brady) picked up a nod as Outstanding Lead Actor for his stalwart work as Salem’s intrepid and stubborn cop. Tamara Braun (Ava Vitali) was also given a nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the psychotic mob daughter who abducted Kayla and tried to make “Patch” her sex slave. Jack will finally appear again on May 28 and be played by twin cuties Edward and James Nigbor.
The character of Gloria will be played by Meegan Holloway on May 25.
Thomas, played by Drew Tyler Bell, stirs the pot once again on May 28.
