General Hospital Weekly Summary For July 20-24.
Carly called Sonny and his goons over to the country club to threaten Chip into apologizing to Michael. Chip quickly backed down after Sonny told him that he was hurting his feelings. Meanwhile, Kiefer was proving to be less than a gentleman. He slapped Kristina across the face when she backed away from taking the next step in their relationship. He tried talking her down and made another move on her. She rejected him again and he flounced off to pick up another woman. When Kristina went to see him, he ditched her and she sped through the night in tears.
Claudia got the results of her amnio, revealing that Sonny is the child’s father. As she raced across town to tell him in person, her car was forced to swerve off the road. It flipped right by Carly’s driveway. Carly caught sight of the accident and was forced to drag her enemy out of the car before it exploded. As Claudia was raced to the hospital, Sonny went to see Olivia believing that the amnio must have proved that Ric was the father. He made another pass at her. As he kissed her, Johnny walked in and angrily told them that the tests proved that Sonny is the father. Dropping everything, Sonny raced over to the hospital only to discover that his wife was being brought in following the accident. Although he tried to be supportive, that didn’t stop him from stalking around the hospital and listening in on Carly and Olivia having a heart to heart. Olivia ran off, upset and went home.
When Olivia got home, she ordered her son to leave town. He refused to listen. As they argued, Jason came to the door. Dominic hid and listened to Jason give her a message from Sonny. As soon as Stone Cold was gone, Dominic began ordering his mother to leave town. After he received a tip from one of his mob contacts, he rushed to the hospital to tell Sonny about a situation among their cohorts. When Olivia showed up at the hospital, she was shocked to spot her son and Sonny together. Afterward, she begged her son to stay away from Sonny and he asked the same of her.
It was revealed that Claudia had suffered a brain injury in the crash. She refused to be treated by medication since it would likely cause a miscarriage. Unfortunately for her, Patrick injured his hand when Robin nearly fell down the stairs and into his arms. Returning to Claudia, he told her she could either take the medication or let his brother perform the surgery. Johnny was outraged by the idea but a desperate Claudia agreed to go along with it. Johnny made sure to make it known that he would kill Matt if he bungled this operation. It seemed to go off without a hitch as far as the mother was concerned, but it was then revealed that the seat belt had caused trauma to the fetus whose heartbeat is in steady decline.
Soon after the crash, Michael called Jason for help. He was distraught with guilt but Jason promised to take care of everything. Edward also stepped up and assured his great grandson that the Quartermaines take care of their own no matter what they’ve done. He turned to his sister and told her about what he believed he was guilty of. Talking to her wasn’t enough to expiate his guilt. After learning that his mother had collapsed after the strain helping Claudia, he went to the station to turn himself in. Jason showed up while he was in mid-confession and the questioning was halted before it could go too far. When Diane finally arrived, Mac arrested Michael.
Kristina called Keifer after the accident. He assured her that she will be in the clear and drove her home. Her jumpy behavior made Sam suspicious. Her suspicions only grew when Alexis called her over for a late night meeting in her office. Alexis confessed that she had gone to mayor Floyd’s to confront him and wound up in a fight with his wife under the gaze of security cameras. She asked Sam to ask Spinelli to hack in and erase the footage. Sam couldn’t help but realize that Alexis was in close proximity to the accident and started to wonder if she was involved. Suspicions spread as Alexis and Diane went down to the station to be questioned by Mac and Lucky. Andrea Floyd stuck her head in to complain about the scene which Alexis had made earlier and tried to square the blame for the accident on her. Diane took Alexis home and they discussed the case against while Kristina listened in and wondered if her mother could actually be guilty. When Sam later arrived and they discussed the accident, Kristina burst in and began accusing her mother of letting Michael take the fall for her. When the sisters were alone, Sam straight out asked Kristina if she caused the crash.
