General Hospital Weekly Summary for June 29-July 3.
Mob maneuvers, civic scandals and the return of courtly love.
Spinelli had to ward off the advances of Maximista and control his overflowing libido. He was afraid that giving into carnal pleasures would lead to disaster as it has in the past. She quickly set to work breaking down his defenses. Jason interrupted and then they slipped of to Jake’s where they bumped into Robin and Patrick as they picked apart the case against the mayor. Detective work aside, Spinelli spent much of the week explaining to Maxie the meaning of courtly love. While she liked the poetry part, putting the kibosh on the sex part was rubbing her the wrong way. When Coleman asked them for advice about how to make Jake’s more inviting to the trendy set, Spinelli and Maxie battled over suggestions. Coleman ended up opting for karaoke, a choice which delighted Spinelli but terrified Maxie. She’s afraid that his lack of vocal prowess will lead to public humiliation and ruin their chances of being together. She’s right to be afraid too since he can’t carry anything remotely resembling a tune.
Nikolas and Rebecca watched a horror movie together. She was more afraid when she spotted Ethan lingering in the shadows of Wyndemere. She slipped away to reassure the increasingly jealous con that they are still partners. Things are quickly spinning out of their control, however. Nikolas asked her to move in with him. As she mulled over the idea, Ethan got plastered at Jake’s and called Elizabeth over for a chat. Feeling lost and alone, he demanded that Rebecca drop what she was doing with Nikolas and rush over to listen to him moan. Before she could give him many reassurances, he passed out on the bed. She realized that things are getting far more complicated with Nikolas than she had anticipated.
Carly berated Sonny for buying Michael a sports car. She took this as a sign that Michael moving in with the Quartermaines really was the only solution. Jason refused to move in with the Quartermaines to keep an eye on Michael, explaining that he brings trouble everywhere he goes and he couldn’t bring it to their doorstep. To help push things along, Jax attempted to blackmail Claudia onto their side with what he knows about her. He didn’t have to though, Sonny eventually caved thanks to arguments from Jason. Michael moved in and quickly set to work manipulating Edward. He got his own physical therapist and soon finagled permission to drive around in his new car with Morgan in the passenger’s seat. When Carly found out about it, she freaked.
During the mayor’s arrest/press conference, the mayor announced that Alexis couldn’t prosecute him because they’d had an affair. Kristina was appalled and went away to mope. Alexis explained that it was hardly an affair, just a one night accident. While her daughter cultivated her hatred for her, Robin and Patrick showed up to tell her they arrested the wrong person. Robin tried convincing Patrick that Andrea must be the one who killed Brianna. Too bad for her that the mayor’s wife was standing close by when she spewed out her theory.
Kristina continued to fight with her mother, but she could have more to worry about. Dominic has been sticking around town and set his sights on her. What does he want? She could be an in to the Corinthos organization for him. He tried to get an introduction to Sonny from Johnny, who turned him down flat and called him crazy from running toward his enemy when he should be running from him. Did the Zacharra lieutenant lose his sense with the blood he lost during his recent shooting, or does he have a mad plan to put into play?
