Since it was announced that Louise Sorel would be returning to Salem as Vivian, everyone’s been eager to hear what she would be up to.
Our sister site, Soaps.com, had the chance to chat with Sorel about her history in Daytime, her character, and what audiences may be in for when she returns.

Soaps.com: What do you think motivated Vivian?
Louise: That was something that I always questioned. They did write some things that gave some back story of her being deeply hurt. That doesn’t necessarily warrant the stealing of someone’s embryo or burying someone alive; you just can’t even justify those things! You just do it and hope that someone finds it funny. But, there was a lot of hurt and there were scenes written a long time ago that I was so happy for. They showed you her soft side and her lonely side. She walked in on her husband and found him with another woman and all that stuff. You always have to have one of those characters that’s sort of unexpected and sort of over the top with how she lives her life. I think it’s a fun character and I don’t know that you can say that you could justify all of that, nor do you have to really. Read the rest of this entry »

Days viewers have been delighted to learn of the returns of some old favorites in the coming months.
Vivian Alamain (Louise Sorel) will be back and so will Crystal Chappell (Carly Manning), which has left many fans wondering id any more of the Alamain clan will be back. Brian Norris will play a cop who gets in Jason and Sam’s way on July 31.
Amy Castle (Viki, Passions) played the part of Tara on the July 20.
Cara Pifko has been placed on recurring status as Louise Addison, the Assistant District Attorney. We first saw her on July 10.
Greg Vaughn (Lucky) recently explained on his Twitter page that he has not been placed on recurring status, he just gets little airtime.
Christian Alexander will be playing Kristina’s friend Kiefer on a recurring basis.
If you’re a fan of Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), you’ll be happy to know that she has now been placed on contract! Expect to see her sticking around town for awhile.
