Crystal Chappell is Returning to Days of Our Lives. (Updated)
Days is about to see a familiar face return to the cast.
TV Guide Magazine is reporting that Guiding Light’s Crystal Chappell will be heading back to Salem after that series goes off the air in September. Crystal has just inked a with TPTB at Days to return to her old role of Carly Manning (Katerina von Leuschner). Chappell met and married her husband Michael Sabatino (ex-Lawrence Alamain) on the show in the 1990s. Taping is set for September and we’ll see her on our screen in October.
Carly has a close relationship with many members of the town, past and present. She also, famoulsy, was buried alive by Lawrence’s aunt, Vivian Alamain. No word yet on whether this means that we could also be seeing a return of more member of the Alamain family.
Chappell began taping in mid-August and will first appear on October 5.

Carly had a son with Larry Alimane. Auntie Viv stole him when he was an infant and raised him as her own. THen of course Carly and bad boy Larry married and took their son off into the wild blue younder. ( these two are married in real life) Carly and Bo had a relationship when Hope was suppose to be dead. Carly was also forced to marry Victor (Bo’s Bio-daddy) Larry raped Jennifer Horton she was pretending to be Carly for a time. Jennifer was in love with Frankie ( Maxes bro) and Frankie turned out to be Carlys brother!
And then there is the entire JOhn Black sl that fits in here. Is he an Allamanie or is he a Demira or is he a poor preist. Oh no he
s a con artist, and a theif, no he’s a ISA agent. Oh wait maybe he is…..

Oh my God; this is so awesome. I had written to nbc.com last year, asking them, no actually pleading with them, and begging them to please, please hire Chrystal Chappell again on Days of our Lives, because I so miss the Bo and Carly pairing. I know there are thousands of other fans out there…just check out youtube.com of this absolutely divine couple. This is how I have had to get my fill of my favorite couple from the 1990s. I can’t wait to tune in. I have been watching DOOL on and off for the last few years, just couldn’t get into the storyline. But now, I see myself once again setting my VCR to tape each days’ show. Gosh, I know I’m gushing, but I just can’t help it. This is the smartest decision DOOL has made.

I never like Carly - it was a wild story line but now I can see trouble in the wind for Bo and Hope. What is the purpose of bringing Carly back without Vivian or her son or Lawrence for that matter!

I never liked the Carly storyline and I don’t see the purpose in bringing her back without Lawrence, her son or even Vivian - now Viv would be cool to see again! With Carly back perhaps we see more trouble for Bo and Hope. How does Justin fit into this whole plot ?

It’s funny how TPTB can bring back all these people from 10 years ago or so, BUT CAN’T BRING BACK JOHN AND MARLENA????? I am soooo through with Days. What we don’t need is more “strangers” we aren’t invested in on the show. Can’t wait for March 2010 for the final death nell of this crap shoot!!!!

I had rather see John and Marlena back than the all of the characters they have been and are bringing back. And where are all the couples that always stay together in love-this should be Bo & Hope. I had rather Kate stay (not a huge fan of hers) than to see Vivian come back to the show. And what is going on with all the personalities of the characters changing? EJ & Sami 4ever.

Want to see John and Marlena back. Could not care less about Carley, Viv and Larry. What happened to Steve and Kayla? Why is Hope acting so bitchy towards Bo, he did all the right things, she would have really gotten them killed. Is this a cheap way to get Bo to be with Carley?

Hope is getting on my nerves!! Dean would of killed her daughter either way…he offed his girlfriend. She needs to let it go and move on before Bo does. May be why Carly is returning. Kate of all people nedds to go. Marrying Stefano? After he tried to kill her beloved son….I hope her children disown her!!

Watched Kate squirm through her wedding.Victor there and the whole thing was hilarious!! LOL!! I still would like to see her in the orange jumpsuit somehow for a time in prison cleaning toilets or something vile. Chrystal/Carly with Bo serves the two faced betraying ‘ho wife of his right if he gets her. I hope Ciara screams to go home to Daddy, and Hope has her nose rubbed in it. Please get Will a haircut!! He looks ridiculous and immature for his age, and he needs to protect his territory from Chad!

So glad to see Chrystal Chappell returning as “Carly”. It’s exactly what Days of Our Lives needs. I still remember her first day in the role of “Carly. She went topless on the beach with her back turned. What an entrance!
Chappell could act circles around anybody. I will be tuning in to Days again.

I am SO NOT INTERESTED in bringing back people who haven’t been on this soap in over 15 years..what is the point???? They never had closure or wrote properly for John/Marlena, Steve/Kayla or Shawn and Belle…..and we were VESTED IN THESE PEOPLE FOR YEARS..now we have what I consider, STRANGERS, coming on scene again…this show is going to tank, I just feel it, folks!!! JMO..

I think days of our lives is the greatest - I have been watching it since 1967. It keeps getter better and better. I tape it every day and look forward to watching it.

I guess I’m the only one that hates Marlena. John was okay and the actor did I great job with that last storyline. But, frankly, Marlena can stay where ever she is. I don’t miss her a bit.

No, carly or vivian how about John n Marlena for she needs to be there for Sami and John needs to fix Nicole’s wagon b4 EJ does…lol Bringing Theresa n Ethan from Passions was a great idea..wtg! Galen well i thought was a great idea but not caring for his role right now. Why are you bringing bk 15 yrs of the past? We already had enough of that we need to move on and finally see some the hottest couples reunite and get married.

I agree with you Babs! I never liked Marlena either but preferred her with Wayne Northrup’s Roman than with anyone else. Only then could I stomach her character. As for the others returning, I’m excited! I remember leaving Days for a time and when I returned, Carly was paired with Bo. I first thought Hope had been replaced with a different actress but saw she was a different character. Bo’s nickname for her was Princess, remember? I was always mad how the writers never mentioned Carly’s name again after she left. Billie was always the only “other woman” in his life that was mentioned but Carly played a big role and should be remembered as such. I hope they use flashbacks for background story and don’t write her as if she’d only known Bo in a passing way. Of course, if Robert Kelker Kelly was playing Bo back then, they would have to re-create the flashbacks.

Alot of the high paid people went. There bringing in some prople to try and fill the gap that are paid less. I don’t think it’ll make a difference cause there are just to many new faces brought in at one time. The show has gotten so boring.

And don’t forget that Nicky (Nicholas) Alamain (Carly and Lawrence’s son) came back on the show a few years ago all grown up. Might I add he was a hotttt actor!!! Nicky had an affair with Kate. In the show Kate was a cougar!

I never watched when Carly was on,so it is all going to be new to me.I am looking foward to the return of Vivian.I kind of hope they bring back her lacky Ivan they were priceless as a duo. I hope with all these returns that they do end up bringing John and Marlena back.They are still very missed.

I am so tired of Sami and EJ not knowing that Sydney is their child. How long is this going on?Enough is enough. Why doesn’t Stephano want EJ to know that Sami is the mother of Sydney? Sami isn’t any worse than Nicole. I can’t believe her. She is a real bitch. And Hope is something else. She should be thanking Bo for getting their little girl back. One more comment. Everyone on that show is supposed to be so smart, but the writers make them out to be dumber than a box of rocks. EJ and Sami should have found out a long time ago Sydney was theirs. And how dumb was EJ during the miscarriage. Oh please, a blind man could have figured that one out.
