Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara) has been named a Muscular Dystrophy Association National Celebrity Ambassador.

In his role as a Celebrity Ambassador, he will tape PSAs, give interviews, tweet about MDA activities, chair the Telethon National Online Auction and appear on the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon. Barash has also been raising funds for MDA scientific research by selling photos he has taken around the world. He is also selling copies of his book of photographs at fan events. Those proceeds will also be donated.

From September 1 to the 15, one of the items to be auctioned online will be a General Hospital set visit, including lunch with the actor. You can bid on this and other items on the MDA Online Auction page.

The annual MDA Telethon airs from September 6 at 9:00 EST until afternoon on September 7.
