GH‘s Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina Davis) recently told us about her visit to a YWCA as part of her research for the teen abuse storyline her character is in.
The young actress visited a shelter for battered women. It only has funding to support 53 rooms and 7 apartments. She toured the facilities and heard stories about some of the women staying there. Although the YWCA is partially funded by The United Way, it still depends on public donations. “I definitely want to make a donation so I can help support them. They’re working at trying to build a new facility, it’s just hard with the economy right now getting funding,” Lexi said.
She was told that, on average, women leave their abusers 7 to 10 times before doing so permanently and that in 2006, 24,106 cases of domestic violence were reported in the area. Read the rest of this entry »
Following Michael’s accusations, Jason and Spinelli begin to dig into Dominic. After a chat with Sonny’s housekeeper, Jason’s suspicions only grow. Finally, it is Spinelli who gives Stone Cold and Sonny the evidence that Dominic is indeed an undercover operative who has come to take them down. ABC has pulled its people together for another year of the Soap Nation Stagecoach Music Festival.
In California, on April 24 and 25, fans will get to mix and mingle, enjoying autograph sessions, raffles, giveaways, and the opportunity to enjoy some downtime in the Soap Nation mini-spa.
Country music stars Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Brooks and Dunn and Sugarland will be joining many of the stars from ABC’s Daytime lineup. From All My Children there will be Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward), Bobbie Eakes (Krystal Carey), and Melissa Claire Egan (Annie Chancellor). The General Hospital contingent will be made of Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara), Bradford Anderson (Damien Spinelli), Laura Wright (Carly Jacks), and Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake) and One Life to Live will be represented by Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning), Brandon Buddy (Cole Thornhart), Hillary B.
