General Hospital Marks A Milestone.

General Hospital will air its 12,000th episode on February 23.

“In any climate, it is amazing that we have the opportunity to celebrate such a momentous occasion. This milestone honors the strength of the daytime drama and looks to the future that ‘General Hospital’ will continue to air many, many more episodes,” Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps has stated about this achievement. When As The World Turns goes off the air this fall, GH will be the longest running soap still on TV. In celebration, they will changing their opening sequence.
