While EJ explains his latest scheme to his daughter, Philip tries reassuring Chloe that things will go back to normal with Daniel… but he couldn’t be more wrong.
Philip calls Carly and tells her that Mel wants to see her. Bo forbids it. She ignores him. He offers to go with her. As they rush over, Philip is busy in her room, trying to get Mel to rest. That’s hard since she keeps remembering getting shot. Carly and Bo arrive. Philip stands guard and Bo walks out. Mel forbids Carly to ever call herself her mother again. She asks her husband to give them some privacy so they can get this over with. After he leaves, Carly explains that she never knew what a monster Trent was. She tells her about her awful marriage to Lawrence and how she cheated on him and then was forced to give her away. Carly remembers Lawrence letting her say goodbye to baby Mel. She tells her that she killed him when he snapped and vowed to track her down. Mel thinks this is all her fault: Lawrence’s death, her shooting, Bo and Hope’s marriage being ruined. Now that Mel is adjusting to her maladjusted new reality, she probes Carly for the details about who her real daddy is. Carly’s bedside manner is almost as bad when she’s trying to be a mother as it is when she’s being a doctor. Mel freaks out again and screeches, “Carly, leave me alone!” Meanwhile, Daniel and Chloe discuss how much Carly has managed to bungle her life. The diva worries that her relationship with the doctor has come under too much strain. Little does she know it’s about to get a whole lot worse. Carly demonstrates more of her delicate social skills when she breaks it to Dr. Dan that he’s the daddy. As he flips out, she makes excuses. “I couldn’t tell you,” Carly says. “You couldn’t? The actor has the recurring role of Thomas Jerome Newton on the FOX TV series, “Fringe,” but fans will soon be able to catch him on the web series, “Vamped Out,” as well. Jax continues his bid to actually get Sonny out of his life for good when he has Federal Prosecutor Claire Walsh take over the case against the mob boss. Seeing how things are stacking up, Alexis wants to join Sonny’s defense team. Diane won’t let that happen, however, unless Alexis also agrees to join Diane’s law firm. While Sonny sends Jason off to keep Michael away from the courthouse, he takes Diane’s advice and changes his plea to not guilty. Claire immediately requests that his bail be revoked and Jason instantly makes plans for Sonny’s escape. Meanwhile, Dante continues to be conflicted about what to do when he’s subpoenaed to testify.
