CBS announced the host of the Daytime Emmys to be none other than one of Daytime’s long time talk show hosts, Regis Philbin. Though fans were hoping to see a soap opera star hosting the event, we have to keep in mind this isn’t just the soap opera awards, but the awards for all Daytime shows! Of his Daytime Emmy hosting debut, Philbin was quoted as saying, “I am delighted to host the Daytime Emmys this year. It’s going to be a great night with my Daytime brothers and sisters, and I hope everyone wins an award this year.”
