New contract for Maria!

Maria Arena Bell, Head Writer and Co-Executive Producer of The Young and the Restless, was not only excited about the fact that CBS Renewed The Young And The Restless Through the 2013 – 2014 Season, she had a little celebrating to do on a very personal level… She received a new deal as well and stated to CBS Soaps In Depth, “This is the most awesome news!!!” “Huge vote of confidence for the show — it’s doing great! So there goes the “this business is dying” theory! Plus… I’ve got a new deal too!!!!!! So I’m staying with Y and R people!”

Sonny and Brenda are about to leap into bed when Spinelli and Carly stop them. Carly throws the mob boss off by telling him that she still has feelings for him. Brenda is sent off to Suzanne who tells her that she can’t bring Sonny to a party, she has to bring Dante instead. The cop isn’t thrilled by the idea either. He orders an autopsy on Aleksandre’s body to try and lure the Balkan out. After he acts as Brenda’s bodyguard for the night, he heads to Jake’s and gets tanked. Michael finds him and Dante opens up about his feelings. The detective goes to Sonny to tell him the whole truth about Brenda but it doesn’t pan out. Christie Clark will be coming back to Salem as Carrie Brady. The actress was last seen on the show in June for the goodbye to Alice. She has been on the set shooting this week.
