Classic star of the silver screen Elizabeth Taylor has passed away at the age of 79.
The actress began her career as a child and quickly worked her way into one of the major movie stars in Hollywood. She won the Best Actress in a Leading Role Oscar for her performance as Martha in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” and starred in such films as “Giant,” “Suddenly Last Summer” and “Cleopatra” among many others. Taylor was almost equally famous for her life off screen, such as her whirlwind romance with Richard Burton and her extensive work for charity.
In 1981, Taylor starred on General Hospital as the original Helena Cassadine. She also did a small role on All My Children in 1983.
The legend also created her own AIDS foundation called “The Elizabeth Taylor Aids Foundation,” and by 1999, she helped raise close to $50 million.
