Nicole returns to Casa DiMera where Elvis instantly tries again to win her over. “You are the most bewitching woman I’ve ever met,” he coos. She whips out divorce papers. “Freshly drawn. Our marriage is over,” she declares. He begs and pleads for yet another chance but she’s determined to stand up on her own. However, in light of his political campaign, she won’t file the papers until the election is over. His heart sinks and he signs. After she leaves, he mopes until he runs into his father. On Saturday December 3 “The Young And The Restless” actress Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) will hold one of her “Afternoon Tea with Kate Linder & Friends” events in Seattle, Washington. This first time event for the area will run from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Westin Seattle at 1900 Fifth Avenue and will be followed by an autograph session with some of the cast of the Genoa City soap opera. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer.

November 8th marks the 46th anniversary of “Days Of Our Lives” hitting the airwaves. NBC broadcast the first episode of the sudser on November 8, 1965. The series was the brainchild of husband and wife team Ted Corday and Betty Corday who got some help from soap opera legend Irna Phillips. Focusing on a series of middle class families, the show brought together elements of the hospital and family stories common to Daytime. It also pushed at the boundaries, breaking ground with daring stories about interracial love, artificial insemination, rape and adultery. A longtime steady performer in the ratings, it hit its heights in the 90s when it departed from traditional soap opera storytelling by introducing supernatural and scientific plots. ABC affiliate WFTV channel 9 in the Orlando, Florida area is planning to drop “General Hospital” from its place in their Daytime lineup. The Orlando Sentinel has reported that the soap’s timeslot will be given to Steve Harvey’s upcoming talk show next fall.
