Things got a little crazy on Daytime last week, and in some ways it was hard to keep up with all of the drama. In fact, there seems to be little time for romance on any of the shows thanks to all of the hijinks. In Salem, it looks like something could maybe start to spark between Rafe and Nicole, which could prove very interesting, and Marcus’ proposal to Dayzee on “B&B” was pretty sweet … until they started bickering about Hope and Liam. Deconstructing Days:
What was once a fast-paced storytelling has become almost frenetic, with everything happening all at once. Kate knows about Sami, Lucas is starting to know about Will and everyone suddenly knows about Carrie, Austin and Abigail. The best thing to happen all week was Marlena scolding everyone for airing their family’s dirty laundry in public. Christine says, “I was humiliated for the threesome who sniped at each other at the pub. Carrie, Austin and Sami behaved as four year olds trying to one up the other in front of Marlena, in order to get her to take their side. She only shamed them. Rafe was the only one with dignity and I respected that. Poor Caroline cried while listening to the sniping and the only person who apologized for the display was Rafe and his only contribution was to sigh and say that the kiss was blown out of proportion. Everyone is starting to notice that Hope has suddenly become a very different person since she took the plunge with Liam. It isn’t really because all of the bedroom action though, but because she’s been heavily medicated. Is Hope more likable as a giddy, pill popper? Read the rest of this entry »
Today marks the 39th Anniversary of “The Young And The Restless,” which premiered on CBS on March 26, 1973. To celebrate the show and its cast let’s take a look back at some of the various openings that have introduced the daily episodes into our homes throughout the years. Liam keeps insisting that his new life with Hope is awesome but his dad thinks he’s kidding himself. He can’t stop reminding his son of all the things he has given up for the blond, like Steffy for example. Both men are momentarily distracted from this seemingly endless debate when Karen drops into town with her daughter, Caroline. The young lady is eager to get a job at Forrester Creations. It doesn’t take long before she gets an offer but Karen has to wonder if Brooke has an agenda as far as her daughter is concerned.
