Days Fan Fiction: A New Beginning For Rafe And Sami.
Sami makes it so easy for men to fall in love with her that there are any number of them just waiting in the wings for their chance for romance with her. Sami’s problem is keeping those men, and that is exactly what happened when she let her tryst with EJ bring about the end of her marriage to Rafe. And despite her long history with Lucas and undeniable heat with EJ, it was her loving relationship with Rafe that gets Safe fans up in arms for their favorite Daytime couple. Because of that, we decided to write our own fictional ending for Sami and Rafe.
It seemed like the odds were always stacked against them. From the moment they met, there was always something – or someone – trying to keep them apart. But not anymore. Rafe wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of his happiness with Sami. He stood outside her door and took a deep breath before knocking.
Sami opened the door and her breath caught in her throat. Standing there was Rafe, and he looked better than ever. So good, she didn’t know what to say until he finally broke the heavy silence between the two of them. “Can I come in?” he asked, but then started to move toward her before she even answered. “Sure,” she whispered and moved to the side to let him into her living room. But he wasn’t about to give her any space. He pulled her close to him and before the door was even closed had his lips on hers and she wasn’t about to protest. Their kiss lasted a minute and started to really heat up before he pulled back slightly from Sami. He didn’t want to stop, but he had to tell her what he was feeling before things went any further. “Sami, this is it for me. Now that I am here, in your apartment, I am never leaving. And it doesn’t matter if I have to fight Lucas to have you. I would do that and more just to have you in my life.”
Sami couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She may have just told Lucas she had unresolved feelings for him, but with Rafe standing in front of her, she knew it was him she had to fight for. Their love was real and true and she knew Rafe would always protect her. And she had something she had to tell him too. She kissed him again and pulled him to the couch.
“Rafe, I need to tell you something,” she said. Rafe got nervous, unsure what Sami was about to unload on him. This was Sami after all. But he steeled himself to accept whatever it was she had to say and move on so they could really begin their new life together. She sat next to him and grabbed his hands. But when she looked at him she was smiling and he started to relax a bit.
“I haven’t been feeling myself lately,” she began, then explained that she had just been to the doctor earlier that day. “Rafe, what I have to tell you is about to change everything. I am pregnant with your baby.” Rafe was completely silent for a minute while the news sunk in. He was in love with Sami and she was having his baby. But she hasn’t told him how she is feeling about him yet. He grabbed her and kissed her again. “Sami, this is the most wonderful news in the world,” he said. “But I need to know this is what you want, that you want to be with me forever, no matter what.”
She grabbed him and kissed him again before pulling back. “Rafe, there is nothing I could ever want more than to have you in our lives, to be my husband, to be a father to this baby. I never thought we could find this kind of happiness but I am willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.” Rafe held her close and began to kiss her, showing her how much he loved her. A new baby and a new beginning with Sami? It was more than he could ever have hoped for.
