There are quite a few Daytime characters who found themselves on the hot seat last week and it isn’t looking like there is going to be relief for many of them anytime soon. Connie revealed she had a son when she was a teenager and Lulu paired up with Johnny, causing friction all around on “GH,” Phyllis got in deeper with Ricky and Daisy on “Y&R,” Will was the main suspect in Stefano’s murder on “DOOL” and on “B&B,” Bill got ready to unleash Deacon for some real havoc. So much to cover, so let’s get into it.
It was all about DiMera drama last week in Salem, what with Stefano’s memorial service and EJ bailing young Will out. In typical fashion, the service was dramatic, thanks to Sami. And it’s hard to guess where this is all going, but it is possible that Ian is really EJ’s father, or Stefano is still alive and still EJ’s father. Regardless, despite his arrest, Will seems to be having the time of his life. Christine says, “Are you as puzzled as I am that EJ posted William’s bail? Seems to me that Will’s secretly happy that EJ owns him again, what with all that smirking and smiling, but how does EJ really know young William didn’t do it? Because he did? I don’t believe that because I still say Stefano’s alive. Later in the week we saw EJ tossing his black gloves into a bin at the pier everyone frequents. Was his fireplace not in working order? What if someone were to have followed him and collected the gloves? Can’t they be printed and tested for gunshot residue? Methinks EJ is slipping and that William’s going to be the one to catch him at it.” Read more at Days Of Our Lives Weekly Blog.
Last week was all moving us toward some kind of dramatic Daisy/Phyllis/Ricky action. Phyllis and Avery shared another bonding moment, and though these are few and far between with these two, they always seem to pull the heartstrings when they do. A big bonus this week? The catfight! Candace says, “When Nikki walked in with that horse and delivered her line to Sharon, it was just a delicious soap opera moment. Things got a little ridiculous from that point, but were still entertaining. The end all be all, however, was Victor later asking Michael to keep them in jail longer. How he must love them fighting over him! Also, it’s outrageous that he would ask Michael for a favor after treating him so appallingly – of course that never stopped The Mustache before.” Read more at Young And The Restless Weekly Blog.
Love was in full bloom last week as the crew frolicked around Italy. All except for poor Steffy who is having all of this love shoved in her face. I still can’t get over the fact Hope even invited her in the first place. At least Brooke and Ridge got engaged – again. Candace says, “Over in the olive grove, Ridge had Brooke chase him as he hid behind the trees. I don’t know if they were supposed to look like carefree forest nymphs or what, but poor Brooke was really huffing and puffing by the time he relented and let her find the big, giant olive. Jeeze, Ridge. The ensuing proposal was very sweet – except for Brooke blurting that she’d forgotten they weren’t married – who forgets that? Back in L.A., it was terrific to see Eric and Stephanie. The looks she gave him while he proposed a toast to Hope and Liam were priceless!” Read more at The Bold And The Beautiful Weekly Blog.
Matt turning himself in for Lisa’s murder was about as anti-climactic as you can get. No trial, took a deal and gets five years in jail. At least Maxie is bound and determined to drag it, and her marriage to him, out. Can poor Kate catch a break? Not only do people still mistakenly think she is the one who shot out Anthony’s tires, but now we know she has a child out there, and was a product of a rape when she was a teenager. At least they have the right actress for the job. Kelly Sullivan has been fantastic. Hollie says, “We also found out the down and dirty details about what caused Connie to fade away and Kate to come out, and when Sonny finds out the truth, I sure hope we are in for some powerful scenes. And now that we know the person who killed Theresa is the same person who raped Connie, do you see a pairing up of John and Sonny?” Read more at General Hospital Weekly Blog.
The saddest storyline going on right now is Lexi’s impending death, and last week Theo found out his mommy was going away. So sad. Also, the great whodunit caper continued in Stefano’s murder and Will is still the main suspect – for now. Matt says, “It was not the most pleasant week for Elvis WhateverHisLastNameIsNow. As he whistled the funeral march on the way to Casa DiMera, he was disturbed to find Rafe inside. The cop barred his entrance. EJ fumed and then simply wandered in the back door. Apparently Rafe had been distracted by EJ’s infamous scarf room so it was easy for Elvis to grab his paternity papers and skulk off. He had urgent business to take care of.” Read more of Matt’s take at Matt’s Musings.
