Frank Valentini Teases Future Of General Hospital At TCA Panel.
The Television Critics Association’s summer press tour has been going on in Beverly Hills this week with “General Hospital” holding their panel today. Among other actors, Anthony Geary (Luke), Kelly Monaco (Sam), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) and Laura Wright (Carly) were in attendance, as well as executive producer Frank Valentini. As reported by TVLine, here’s what the big boss teased.
In casting news, Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is back for “a bit,” Genie Francis won’t be returning as Laura any time soon and legal issues with Prospect Park is one of the reasons “One Life to Live’s” Melissa Archer (Natalie) hasn’t been able to even do a cameo in Port Charles. As for Blair (Kassie DePaiva), who has visited the mob infused town a couple of times, fans can expect her to make another trip. Furthermore, the reveal that Todd’s brother Victor (Trevor St. John) is actually alive will come out.
Valentini also expressed his enthusiasm for the new time slot in the fall and is planning an umbrella story leading up to the move. Finally, “GH’s” head honcho felt some reassurance from the network brass that the show will last beyond its 50th anniversary in April, citing their presence at the TCA as proof of their support. He added that the show will be “rolling out lots of different things between now and April — and past then… So, you just need to watch the show to catch the energy and the momentum that we have.”
