Ex-The Bold And The Beautiful’s Phyllis Diller Passes Away.
Veteran comedian, TV star and “The Bold And The Beautiful” guest star Phyllis Diller (ex-Gladys) has died. The 95 year old passed away at home while surrounded by her family. According to TMZ, she had recently suffered a fall resulting in a sharp health decline.
Diller began appearing on television in 1952 when she launched her own series. A long time friend of Bob Hope, she had been a staple of the comedy circuit for sixty years. In addition to her lengthy career on TV, she also appeared in more than two dozen films. She was a recurring cast member on “B&B” from 1995 until 2004. She made her final appearance on the soap earlier this year.
“B&B” executive producer/headwriter, Bradley Bell, issued this statement: “I was saddened to hear of the passing of Phyllis Diller who was a life-long friend of my mother, Lee Phillip Bell, and a long term character, “Gladys Pope”, on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’. Her last television performance, at 95 years old, was on our show. Phyllis will be remembered by the laughter she brought to those who knew and loved her, including audiences around the world.”
