It’s official, Steve Burton announced on “The Talk” that he will in fact be joining “Y&R” as Avery’s (Jessica Collins) supposedly dead ex Dylan McAvoy, the one she had an affair with while she was married! Tune in Tuesday January 8 when Burton’s character’s hand is seen holding a plane ticket to Genoa City. However, we won’t see the character until January 29.

In regards to why Burton chose to leave “GH” and take on a “Y&R” role, Burton wanted to get to Nashville and get out of LA and told his manager if he could come back and forth he’d do that in a second – something he couldn’t do while with “GH.” Watch his appearance below:

TV Guide is reporting that Steve Burton, who played “General Hospital’s” Jason Morgan from 1991 to 2012, could very well be heading to “The Young And The Restless.” The magazine has heard that Burton allegedly signed on for a major Genoa City role. The show’s Executive Producer, Jill Farren Phelps, is not only Burton’s former boss but a very good friend as well.
