General Hospital’s Frank Valentini Talks 50th Anniversary.
“General Hospital” will celebrate 50 years in Daytime on April 1. While the past year has honored the show’s history by bringing back several fan favorites, executive producer Frank Valentini told TV Guide Magazine that’s only the beginning of acknowledging the show’s milestone.
Valentini previewed that the Nurses’ Ball will air during the week of the actual anniversary. In typical fashion, there will be lots of singing and dancing, including a number by former “Dancing with the Stars” alum Kelly Monaco (Sam). Her professional partner Val Chermkovskiy might even pop up again. In addition, it wouldn’t be a true Nurses’ Ball if Lucy’s clothes didn’t come off, so expect that to happen as well.
Even though Lucy will think she’s seeing vampires in Port Charles again, Valentini assured the entertainment outlet that they are not going down that supernatural road again. “Because we have Michael [Easton, who plays John] and Lynn who were both on Port Charles with Kelly, we’re just doing a nod,” he explained.
As for Robin’s return, Valentini declared he’d love to have the character back full time, but it’s dependent on actress Kimberly McCullough’s schedule. Meanwhile, Sabrina’s ugly duckling makeover will possibly happen around the Nurses’ Ball, which could catch Patrick’s eye.
In other news, Valentini teased that Maxie (Kristen Storms) is “probably pregnant,” when asked about her and Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) one night together. He is also trying to bring back all three of the Spencer boys – Jonathan Jackson (Lucky), Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) and Nathan Parsons (Ethan). Denise Alexander might be returning as Lesley Webber and Rachel Ames could pop up as Audrey Hardy. It’s also likely that Jack Wagner will reprise his role of Frisco Jones.
