Love, betrayal, lies exposed, hidden pregnancies, wedding disasters – Daytime had it all last week! Hope continued to plead her case to Liam on “B&B,” while Jack worked hard at his rehab on “Y&R.” On “GH,” Connie was forced to say goodbye to the son she barely knew. And on “Days,” Sami really let Gabi have it with a dose of hypocritical vitriol. Ouch!
It was mainly about the triangle last week, but Candace was glad to see that at least one of the participants had seemed to mature in recent months – and it wasn’t Hope. “Hope’s so caught up in her me-me-me mania, she hasn’t even stopped to consider that Liam’s feelings for Steffy, who actually has matured, may have now surpassed what he felt for her,” she said. “Liam, despite his preposterous declaration to Brooke that he is decisive, is still as wishy-washy as they come.” Eric also had an emotional outpouring last week. Read about it in the Bold and the Beautiful Weekly Blog.
In a Salem full of hypocrites last week, Sami was certainly at the top of her game when it came to the big baby reveal. “Sami was quite possibly the biggest hypocrite she has ever been in this situation,” Christine said. “Gabi didn’t have to drug Will to sleep with her and she told him she was pregnant right away. We all know that Sami did this twice and dragged it on for years. One would think she would sit back and ask questions instead of being so quick to judge Gabi’s motives but we know how self-absorbed she is so she was likely thinking that Gabi’s reasons for hiding the truth are identical to her own.” Meanwhile, read about Rafe going rogue in the Days of Our Lives Weekly Blog.
Carly met crazy last week, fueled by embarrassment, regret and lots and lots of vodka. “Carly hit a new low with a Brittany-inspired meltdown, complete with frantic hair chopping,” Hollie said. “She was in a self-destructive shame spiral, and for just a moment there I was sure she was going to dive in head first and shack up with AJ. And if he was tempted at all, even for a second, all he had to do was imagine Carly waving those sharp shears around for the ultimate mood killer.” Read about Trey’s passing and more in the General Hospital Weekly Blog.
Weddings absolutely never go off without a hitch in Salem, and Gabi and Nick’s nuptials were no different. Fun! “It was wedding day in Salem this week,” Matt said. “As Victor observed, it didn’t go off that badly. After all, no one was shot and there was only a minor incident of pummelling. Weddings are usually so prone to disaster and death that if the Salem PD wasn’t so heavily involved in them, they should have been lobbying to make them illegal. Judging by some of Chadsworth’s new mannerisms, he’s been spending most of his time holed up watching Christian Slater in ‘Heathers.‘” See how EJ took advantage of the situation in Matt’s Musings.
With the way Fen has been behaving, Candace thinks viewers should be worried about the bond between his parents. “Looks like trouble ahead in the Lauren/Michael union, thanks to their dastardly offspring,” she said. “I still don’t get why Fen would be like Kevin or Michael in the old days, since their issues came from living in an abusive environment and Fen didn’t, but that seems to be the gist of the storyline. In any case, those evil smirky expressions Fen gets on his face are a bit too ‘mustache-twirling villain’ for my taste, but it all works somehow to make us want to smack this kid and throw our arms around poor Jamie and protect him.” Read about Jack’s continued detox in The Young and the Restless Weekly Blog.
