We got a little of the old and a little of the new with our shows last week, the old being – what else- the triangle on “B&B” and a centuries-old vamp on “GH.” As for the new, it was some love in the afternoon for Rafe and Kate on “Days” and a devastating diagnosis for Nikki on “Y&R.”
Another week down and still no resolution to the all-consuming triangle. “It’s at the point where scenes with Hope or Steffy or Liam, or the endless flashback scenes, just produce audible groans,” Candace said. “It’s so far beyond past time to wrap this up and let other characters have legit storylines and lives. Bell’s promised a shocking climax to the triangle, but the only thing that could still shock us with regard to this storyline is if it actually came to some kind of lasting resolution.” Do you buy Eric and Taylor together? Father Eric is going to need to get some edge – and ditch the collar – if Christine is going to buy him paired with Nicole. “He needs to lose the little boy lost and weak routine in order for me to get on board with anything other than friendship between them,” she said. “Besides, he’s a priest. Bleh! Kristen’s right. Nic shouldn’t go there. Speaking of friendship, it makes sense that Nicole can’t reside at the convent and go clubbing but why would she lose Eric’s friendship over it? He comes off as a little manipulative even if by chance he doesn’t mean to be.” Then read more about the Kafe hookup in the Days of Our Lives Weekly Blog.
In Port Charles, Hollie welcomed the increasingly more complex side of Kate’s alter ego. “Connie seems to be here to stay, or at least will be a big part of the integration of Kate,” she said. “The longer she is around, the better I like her – especially as the more abrasive aspects of her personality have calmed a tad and the softer, kinder Connie who is willing to open her heart up just a little shines through. Her loyalty to Tracy over the whole source reveal dust-up was a bit unexpected, especially to Tracy, and together these two could be absolutely formidable. More please.” Find out if Caleb caught up with Sam in the General Hospital Weekly Blog.
Kristen’s silly plot to get Brady down the aisle still hasn’t gotten her the results she wants. “Meanwhile, for reasons I fail to fully understand, Kristen thought that getting rip-roaring drunk would be the perfect way to convince her recovering addict boytoy that they should be together until they are no more than lusty dust,” Matt said. “It wasn’t. He loved the pants off of her, even if he didn’t want to marry her and bring the doom that would inevitably follow.” Meanwhile, catch up on Sami’s proposal confusion in Matt’s Musings.
The current cyber-bullying storyline has left much to be desired for Candace. “Instead of making Fen take responsibility for tormenting someone to the brink of suicide, Michael began apologizing for having taken a hard line,” she said. “Michael should have stood his ground even after he learned Jamie lied, because Paul’s sentiments were true – Fen might as well have pushed him – and Fen hasn’t learned a thing. When Summer found Fen hitchhiking, he blamed Jamie for ruining his life. Unbelievable!” Learn more about Nikki’s MS diagnosis in the Young and the Restless Weekly Blog.
