Barash returned to Twitter to clarify and confirm his tweet.

At first it seemed like a joke that Brandon Barash was leaving his role of Johnny Zacchara, who he has played since 2007, after the actor tweeted the following:
With a bittersweet, heavy heart I announce my time at GH has come to an end, as I have chosen to move on&pursue my NBA career. I love u all.

However, despite him probably not joining the NBA, it seems Barash is in fact leaving “General Hospital.” Barash’s band Port Chuck’s Facebook page backed it up with, “It is not a joke. Brandon is leaving ‘GH.’”
