Casting news.

The month of September has more faces, some familiar, coming to Genoa City. Be sure to bookmark and refresh this page often, as Soap Opera Fan Blog will update with more casting news as it’s announced. Here’s what we know so far…

Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante have officially taken over as co-head writers, from Josh Griffith, as announced by Steve Kent, Senior Executive Vice President/U.S. Programming at Sony Pictures Television.

Jerry Douglas returns as John’s ghost on Monday September 16.

TV Guide is reporting that Michael Damien (Danny), Lauralee Bell (Christine), Tricia Cast (Nina), Patty Weaver (Gina), Adrienne Frantz (Amber) and Beau Kazer (Brock) will all appear on September 3 and 4 for a special tribute to Katherine Chancellor, played by the late Jeanne Cooper. Damien will also perform a song titled “That’s When I’ll Stop Loving You.” Corbin Bernsen, Cooper’s son, will also return as Father Todd Williams to officiate the ceremony.

Robert Gant (“Baby Daddy,” “Anger Management”) will play David Sherman beginning on September 11.

Zack Conroy will return to crossover to Genoa City as his “B&B” character Oliver Jones again on Friday September 20.

“Y&R” is casting for the role of a pediatric eye specialist named Dr. Lintz. This is an under-five part.
