At tonight’s event, “All My Children’s” Emerson Brooks and “The Young And The Restless’” Tatyana Ali took home the award in the Daytime Drama Series actor/actress categories. Congrats to both!

This year’s 43rd Annual NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) Image Awards nominees have just been announced and recognize people of color for their exceptional achievements and performances in film, music and TV. Though the ceremony has been aired on FOX for the last 16 years, the two-hour event will take place on February 17 on NBC.

Why you should watch.
Being one of five kids, getting time alone with my mom was rare. That’s why I always loved when I was sick and had to stay home from school. She would dote on me, make my favorite foods and throughout the course of the day while she did laundry or got dinner ready, we got to reconnect. But we would also watch “All My Children.” Since she stayed at home, my mom got to see it almost every day while I only got the occasional glimpse of Janet from Another Planet, the rugged Dimitri rasping away at Wildwind or my favorite, Hayley, played by a barely recognizable round-faced Kelly Rippa.

“Days Of Our Lives” Molly Burnett (Melanie) spoke about one of her most surprising Christmas gifts and shared, “My trapeze that I put over my bed to swing on. Because I knew I would get to be just like the circus trapeze girls!”

Grinchmas.
“Days Of Our Lives” actors Ari Zucker (Nicole), Galen Gering (Rafe) and Eric Marstoff (Brady) and “The Young And The Restless’” Kate Linder (Esther), as well as former “All My Children” actor and Dancing With The Stars winner JR Martinez (ex-Brot) will be in attendance at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Grinchmas celebration. The actors will be reading from the holiday classic “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.”

It’s not quite the end…
It breaks our hearts that ABC cancelled our beloved 41 year old soap opera, “All My Children,” but how happy are we that Prospect Park has stepped in and decided to take the soap online in 2012? The Daytime soap has brought us many years of love, happiness, sadness, romance and adventure and Soap Opera Fan is happy to post the “AMC” ABC ending on our website for you, your friends and family members to enjoy. The show ends on a cliffhanger, which will lead us into the next episode which should air sometime early next year. Soaps.com will update readers in their news room when they learn more about when AMC will migrate online.
