Botched plans and unexpected turns.

Liam gulped as Steffy and Hope bickered over him. Hope remained clueless about the annulment papers and looked forward to the wedding in Italy. Meanwhile, Stephanie and Brooke bickered about Hope and whether the troubled young woman needed a husband more than mental help. Brooke stormed off to confront Liam about tearing up the papers. Hope informed her mom that she was moving out of Liam’s. They started planning the wedding and decided to have it in Italy. Meanwhile, Liam returned to town and filled his father in. He even told Bill that he tore up the annulment papers and kissed Steffy. Bill told him that Steffy was the right woman for him. Hope showed up, apologizing for what happened and asked if he still wanted to get married. He was still determined to go through with it. When he told his father this, it raised Bill’s ire. Liam searched for Hope, who was hiding from the paparazzi. She was photographed popping a pill before Liam arrived. The press had cleared and her mood had changed. She wanted to go skiing. They hit the slopes. She was stoned and giddy and accidentally ran over Steffy as she skied down the slopes. After making sure she was still alive, Hope giggled and sped away. Steffy cried out for help. Liam found her. As they waited for a medic, he fondly remembered their past. After he took her to the hospital, he confronted Hope. Vacation disaster.

Steffy gloated to her mother that she kissed Liam and he would be hers again soon. Meanwhile, Liam told his dad about the kiss but claimed it was nothing. Taylor popped in to remind him who he is married to and then started plotting with Bill. He called Oliver and Ramona in Aspen, asking them to make things uncomfortable for Hope when she arrived. Justin didn’t think this was a swell idea. Oliver and Ramona had doubts too but went along with the plan to send the paparazzi after Hope. Justin repeated that this was a bad idea. A dazed Hope was swarmed by paparazzi until Marcus pulled her away. She called Liam to tell him about the ordeal. He told his dad and mentioned Amber had been around. Bill was irked, and even more so when he learned that Hope was in therapy. Over at Forrester, Amber discovered that the pills were dangerous while Hope and Steffy bickered about the situation and Steffy still refused to sign the annulment papers. Diving in.

Dayzee saw Amber looking at drugs online and warned her that they could be compromised and cause problems. Meanwhile, Liam started to worry to Bill and Katie about how all-over-the-place Hope seemed. She called him over to the pool, where Thomas and Rick were flirting up a storm with Caroline. When Liam arrived, Hope was flying high. Steffy returned and told Liam she missed him. He told her about Hope’s mood swings in reaction to all the negative media buzz. As they comforted each other, Ridge caught sight of them. He puttered off to listen to Brooke coo about how swell Caroline was and how she was the anti-Amber. Caroline was hard at work on sketches with Rick. He said he was happy to have her around. Later, he chatted with his mom and Ridge about Caroline. Brooke prodded him to get to know her better but Rick continued defending Amber. Hope got glum after seeing the latest tabloid article about her and Liam. She worried what Steffy would do but he said she’d never find out because she was in Aspen. Little did he know that they have the internet there too. He went off to talk to his dad. Bill ran down Hope again and insisted she wouldn’t be able to handle the pressure of being a homewrecker. Hope told her mom that popping pills made sex with Liam bearable. Her mom assured her it would only be necessary until things calmed down. They talked about Steffy leaving town and Taylor showed up to bicker with them about the situation. Meanwhile, Liam was telling Steffy how great things were with Hope. She announced that she was leaving town for awhile. He couldn’t imagine his life without her. She kissed him goodbye and then his dad poked his head in to declare that Liam was making a stupid choice again. Katie walked in as the men bickered. Brooke took her daughter to sex therapy. Hope explained that sex was just something she had to ‘get through’ to get back at Steffy, but it didn’t seem right and this wasn’t fair to Liam. Hope had a lot of anxiety so the shrink gave her some pills. Hope asked her mom to keep all of this quiet and apologized if she badmouthed her to the doctor. Brooke went home to think.
