Ex-”DOOL” star Victor Webster (ex-Nicholas) was last seen in Salem nearly twenty years ago. Although he’s had a pretty busy career since leaving Daytime behind, if you’ve got a hankering to see him soon, he’ll be popping up on Hallmark this weekend. Webster is one of the stars of, “Puppy Love.” The romantic comedy co-stars Candace Cameron Bure (“Full House”). It premieres on Saturday September 8 at 9:00 PM.
If you’re missing the recently departed “DOOL” star Matthew Ashford (ex-Jack), you can catch him in person. He is currently appearing live on stage in Maine. Ashford was tapped to play the role of nasty boss Franklin Hart. Jr. in the Dolly Parton musical, “9 To 5″ at the Ogunquit Playhouse. Daytime alums Darin Brooks (ex-Max, “DOOL”) and Natalia Hall (ex-Colby, “All My Children”) were teamed up to star in one of Hallmark’s latest features. They play childhood friends in “The Seven Year Hitch.” When adults, she lets him move in with her while she pursues a career and he waits for success to find him. The Investigation Discovery network is launching “Days Of Our Knives,” a new Daytime programming block that will bring soap opera actors into the line-up as hosts of its true life shows. Starting on Monday August 20 and running through September 27, viewers will get a daily three hour dose of some of their favorite soap actors – past and present – from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Daytime Emmy Award winner and former “Days Of Our Lives” star (ex-Taylor, ex-Ava) is heading to cable. The busy actress has joined the cast of the series, “Necessary Roughness.” Fans will be able to catch her in the role of Ronnie, the unpredictable sister of Dani (Callie Thorne).
You can see “Necessary Roughness” when it airs on the USA network on Wednesdays at 10:00 PM EST. The show follows the hectic career and personal life of a psychotherapist/single mom and her many famous clients. Look for Braun to start appearing in episode 14.
NBC is trying to keep viewers in the loop while “Days” is on hiatus during the Olympics. For each of the ten days the show is off the air, a star from the series will be appearing in a special half hour interview starting at 2:00 PM. First in line will be Lisa Rinna (Billie).
“Days of Our Lives” alum Krista Allen (ex-Billie) has been cast on the CW’s “The L.A. Complex.” She has been recruited to play the role of Jennifer Bell, a movie star whose life is undergoing some big changes. “DOOL” actor Brendan Coughlin (T) will be back in Salem in August. But fans will also have the chance to catch him in a rather different setting. Coughlin plays Lester in the indie comedy, “Zombie Hamlet.” The movie tracks a desperate director as he attempts to make a movie of “Hamlet” set during the civil war. Things take a strange turn when his producers throw in explosions and zombies. The film also features such TV stars as Shelley Long (“Cheers”), June Lockhart (“Lost In Space”) and wrestler Hulk Hogan.
“DOOL” star Shawn Christian (Daniel) will be appearing on the Primetime comedy “Melissa & Joey” next week. Look for him to appear as Sam, Haskell’s (Greg Sullkin) father and Mel’s (Melissa Joan Hart) new boyfriend. “Melissa & Joey” co-stars “Days” alum Taylor Spreitler (ex-Mia).
