Salem continues to lose its baddies. Recent arrival Ian Buchanan (Ian) will be leaving the series. He made his first appearance on the series in February and has been steadily ruffling feathers and playing mind games ever since. This isn’t to last though. After months of speculation, it was finally confirmed by Soap Opera Digest that Molly Burnett (Melanie) will be leaving the series. She will be exiting the canvas at the end of June.

According to CBS Soaps In Depth, it has now been confirmed that Blake Berris (Nick) will be returning to “Days Of Our Lives.” The actor will reportedly be heading back to work to shoot the first scenes of his return to Salem on May 18. Read the rest of this entry »
Brant Daugherty (Noel, “Pretty little Liars”) has been cast for an upcoming role on “DOOL.” The actor will be involved in a story featuring Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith). “Days” is making drastic changes. Not only have they replaced their writing team, they are also slashing their cast. According to Soap Opera Digest, Matthew Ashford (Jack), Sarah Brown (Madison), Christie Clark (Carrie) and Patrick Muldoon (Austin) are all going to be leaving Salem in the near future. All of the actors were brought in last fall as part of the show’s much hyped revamp. New Head Writers Gary Tomlin and Christopher Whitesell will be joined by Lorraine Broderick to reshape “DOOL.” Broderick, who was a protegee of Agnes Nixon, formerly worked on “All My Children” for a dozen years and was a breakdown writer for “One Life To Live.” She also worked on “DOOL” as Head Writer in 1999 but was fired less than a month later. Veteran Daytime actress Renee Jones (Lexi) will be leaving the cast of “Days Of Our Lives” this summer. The 53 year old announced to TV Guide that she is heading for retirement. She explained that she’s tired of acting, wants to pursue her other interests and simply enjoy life. Jones originally joined the cast of “Days” in 1993. Charles Shaughnessy will be back as Shane Donovan. The actor has been playing the spy on and off since 1984 and was last seen reuniting with Kimberly (Patsy Pease) in 2010 before leaving town again. A new young man is heading for Salem and will be turning some heads. Schuyler Yancey has been cast as Cameron Davis. The character will be playing a substantial part in the upcoming story involving Lexi (Renee Jones) and Celeste (Beverly Todd). KIIS-FM radio personality Ellen K. of “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest” will be showing up on “Days of our Lives” on Friday February 3.
