Renee Jones Exits From Days Of Our Lives.

Retiring.

Veteran Daytime actress Renee Jones (Lexi) will be leaving the cast of “Days Of Our Lives” this summer. The 53 year old announced to TV Guide that she is heading for retirement. She explained that she’s tired of acting, wants to pursue her other interests and simply enjoy life. Jones originally joined the cast of “Days” in 1993. Charles Shaughnessy Returns To Days Of Our Lives.

Charles Shaughnessy will be back as Shane Donovan. The actor has been playing the spy on and off since 1984 and was last seen reuniting with Kimberly (Patsy Pease) in 2010 before leaving town again. A new young man is heading for Salem and will be turning some heads. Schuyler Yancey has been cast as Cameron Davis. The character will be playing a substantial part in the upcoming story involving Lexi (Renee Jones) and Celeste (Beverly Todd). Days Of Our Lives Welcomes Back Tanya Boyd. (Updated.)

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Beverly Todd (“Bucket List”) has been tapped to take the role of Celeste. The actress has already started shooting. Look for her to make her first appearance on April 3.

According to Soap Opera Digest, a statement released by the show states that Branco was wrong. “Reports are incorrect. We were unable to move forward with Tanya due to scheduling conflicts,” the statement said before announcing that they are casting for an established actor to take the role and make it their own. Bryan Dattilo Back To Days Of Our Lives. (Updated.)

According to Soap Opera Digest, the producers of “DOOL” are in talks with Dattilo to keep him back in Salem for a few years.

It has been officially confirmed that Bryan Dattilo will be returning as Lucas. Look for him to make his first appearance in late February.

Here’s the latest castings news on who is coming to Salem.

George Wyner will appear as Judge Goldberg, December 23 to give his verdict on John’s future. Wyner played Leon Stern and Judge Carlson on “DOOL” in the past.

Mary Beth Evans is back as Kayla beginning on December 14. Although she brings her son Joey, he will be off screen the whole time.

The Huffington Post has reported that Lisa Rinna (Billie Reed) may be returning to “Days Of Our Lives.” Rumor has it that she will start shooting again in December. Rinna made a name for herself playing the role of Billie from 1993-1995 and again from 2003-2005. Roger Schroeder And Lacey Dyer Join Days Of Our Lives Writing Team.

To cope with all of the content “DOOL” is producing, the series has hired two more writers onto its staff. Roger Schroeder, a 55 year old from New Orleans began writing for the series on October 27. This is his first experience working in Daytime. Lacey Dyer joined the staff on October 20. The 25 year old previously worked on “Days” as a writer’s assistant from March 2, 2010-June 13, 2011.
