Celebratory Parade for World Series Champs Interrupts Soaps.

November 5th, 2009 by Christine Fix

Those Yankie fans won’t mind a bit of an interruption with their soaps tomorrow but those who aren’t sport fans might have an issue!

Thanks to SoapOperaFan’s twitter friend, dovey2316, we’re able to tell fans in the New York area that some of your soap operas could be pre-empted.  In place of your soaps, you may see the celebratory parade for the World Series Champions, The New York Yankees. Since the parade starts at 11:00 AM, you’ll want to check your local listings to find out if your show will be aired after the parade or not. If your show isn’t aired afterward, we invite you to read our daily updates on Soaps.com for all soaps, or on Soap Opera Fan for Matt’s Days Of Our Lives update! Updated to add that we just got word that WNBC will air Days Of Our Lives at 3:04 AM, Saturday November 7. The Young and The Restless will air on its local network in New York City on Saturday at 3:07 AM followed by Bold and The Beautiful at 4:07 AM.

New Zealand no longer airing Days Of Our Lives & Young and The Restless.

September 23rd, 2009 by Christine Fix

Our sympathies, New Zealanders…

Soaps.com has just reported that New Zealanders won’t be watching Days Of Our Lives or The Young and The Restless at the end of October.

A Television New Zealand spokeswoman, Megan Richards, explained how the ratings have been dropping steadily. “We can no longer justify the cost of buying it, when we have others available. Let’s face it, 30 years is a tremendous run. We understand that there are faithful fans that have been watching for some considerable amount of time but there are also those that are saying to us they would appreciate something fresh after such a long period.”

The bottom line is always hard to take. We can’t imagine how those faithful soap viewers will feel and would like to invite them to visit us daily, for their Days Of Our Lives and The Young and The Restless fix, and to visit Soaps.com for more Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless updates, news, spoilers and casting notes. Though you won’t be able to view the show, we hope that our in-depth updates along with photos will help you keep up with the shows.

An Interview With Days of Our Lives’ Mark Hapka.

September 22nd, 2009 by Matthew Purvis

We haven’t learned all that much about Nathan Horton since he dropped into town.

Mark Hapka, the actor who plays the role, recently had a chat with Christine Fix over at out sister site Soaps.com. Mark talks about his background, his character and what it’s like to work in Daytime.

Here’s a sample:

Several fans asked how Mark enjoyed being on the show so far. “Nathan is overall a great character. I am however anxious to see where they take him. Hope it gets real dark and deep.” (Smiles) He went on to answer a few other questions regarding his character… When asked who he’d like Nathan to be paired up with, he says, “This is a tough one- I don’t have any preconceived ideas of Nathan’s storyline. I just want it to be good, fun, exciting and something I can sink my teeth into! I would love to have some scenes with James Scott. I think he would bring an intensity to the scene that would cause me to kick it up a notch.” Read the rest of this entry »
