This week in Salem…

The big wedding hits a snag. Will it go off without anyone getting hitched?

Wedding walloping.

Everyone nearly falls off their pews when Chad shows up at St. Luke’s to proclaim that Nick isn’t the man who knocked up Gabi. Rafe is furious and the traditional Salem wedding pummeling commences. Will watches his friend get beaten into the carpet until he finally decides he’s seen enough. He steps up and announces that he’s the father. Sonny is shocked and runs away. Will is about to run after him when his dad demands some answers. He’s not the only one. Rafe doesn’t know what’s going on, but he’s not happy to catch Sami tearing into his sister, accusing her of bamboozling her son. Sami and Rafe get into a brutal fight after she nearly clobbers his pregnant little sister. Samanther runs off to sob on Elvis. Meanwhile, Lucas and Will still haven’t learned how to talk quietly. They babble all about Will’s past crimes and Nick just happens to overhear them. He assures his bride that he’s got all of the ammunition they need to get what they want. Unwelcome guests.

John and Brady wind up in the hospital after pummeling each other. Marlena shows up and tells Brady that he can never see the DiMera again. Down the hall, John and Kristen are debating what she did. He thinks that she’s still obsessed with him and she accuses him of just being jealous. When John finally meets up with Doc, he realizes that she knew what Brady and Kristen were up to all along. Trying to move on.

The battle over Kristen continues as Sami plops herself into the fray. She and Brady have some nasty words about it. He finally turns to Kristen to offer her the words she’s been dying to hear. Meanwhile, Marlena tells John something he really didn’t want to hear. She’s known that his son has been playing rumper pumper with his former almost-step-mom for quite awhile. Brady and his father start throwing punches when the truth about Kristen comes out.

Changing minds.

Fearing that his son is lonely, John suggests that Brady grab a woman and come on a double date. That puts a twist in Marlena’s knickers. She protests but can hardly explain and blurts out that they should stay out of Brady’s lady business. Brady can barely keep himself out of Kristen. He asks her to spend New Year’s with him. She’s reluctant but is soon rubbing it in Marlena’s face. The shrink explodes. Kristen finds this hilarious. Marlena can’t handle it any more so she deliberately sends John off to walk in on Kristen knocking mops with Brady. The shrink feels pretty bad about traumatizing the man she loves. It’s probably not as bad as John feels though. He runs away to wash out his eyes. His son gets his pants on and follows him. Brady tries to make the whole thing seem less terrible by insisting that he is smitten with the DiMera. He’s actually relieved that everything is out in the open, but John isn’t nearly as relaxed. At that moment, Marlena babbles to Hope about doing something nasty. Then she bumps into Kristen, who gleefully mocks her. Read the rest of this entry »

Letting it out.

Marlena feels bad when she nearly gives John a heart attack by deliberately sending him off to catch his son in bed with his ex. While she beats herself up about it and turns to Hope to moan, Brady is busy trying to convince his father that his feelings for Kristen extend beyond her nether-regions. All of this has worked into Kristen’s hands. She rubs it in the shrink’s face and looks forward to the new year. She starts it off by confessing everything to John and making it clear that it was all planned. She still hasn’t gotten over the way he treated her. He clues in that she has been banging his son for revenge. When Brady shows up after John storms off, Kristen tells him his dad was acting like a maniac. It isn’t long before John returns with Marlena, looking for a fight. John attempts to convince his son that Kristen is a vengeful harpy but Brady is so smitten that he winds up pounding on his papa for besmirching the honor of his lady love. Kristen thinks this is awesome. Marlena is so horrified that her eyebrows curl. John and Brady have to be hospitalized, but each refuses to talk to the cops. John feels bad for not believing Marlena. That makes her feel bad and she nearly confesses for sending him to walk in on the traumatic scene. Meanwhile, Kristen apologizes to Brady for the situation. She admits to herself that she is actually developing feelings for him and decides to end things. He won’t let her do it. She moans to EJ about her situation. He suddenly realizes that what she is up to could get in the way of his plans for Samanther. Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone gets festive as the year winds down.

Getting it wrong.

Jenn walks in on Brady while he has his tongue in Kristen’s mouth. She runs. He runs after her and tries to explain why he’s sleeping with his former step-mother. Brady insists that he really cares about her and begs Jenn to keep her mouth shut. Jenn mopes off biting her lip. Kristen tracks her down, bumping into Hope on the way, who obviously knows more than she’s letting on. When she talks to Jenn, however, it’s clear that Kristen isn’t trying to make her keep her mouth shut at all. Read the rest of this entry »

In the holiday spirit.

The DiMera brothers take some time from their busy holiday schedules to visit their sister’s grave. Abe wanders by and the three of them mourn a little together. When Abe drifts away, he runs into Kayla. She quickly realizes that he’s at loose ends over the holidays so she invites him to spend them with her family.
