Feature film star James Franco (“Milk,” “Spiderman”) will be joining the cast of General Hospital.

As part of research for an upcoming film, the actor will be shooting a few days a week. So far, there are no specific details available about the role he will be playing but you can expect to see him on November 20. Speculation is that his arrival could also bring the return of alum Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett). Natalia Livingston (Rebecca Shaw) will be leaving Port Charles behind.

“We were thrilled that we were able to get Natalia back for a second run, after her Emmy winning turn as Emily Quartermaine. The character of Rebecca Shaw will soon depart the canvas and Natalia has decided to pursue other projects. Constance Towers leaves as Helena on October 20, but will return, “sooner, rather than later.”

It looks like everything old will be new again in Port Charles.

Or at least one thing. Former fan fave Jonathan Jackson is returning from his exile from Daytime to take back the role he left behind. This means that Greg Vaughn will be leaving the role of Lucky Spencer behind. Matthew Borlenghi will be coming to the show as Valentin Cassadine on October 14.

Amanda Brooks will play Mischa. She’ll show up around the same time as Luke and Helena.

Sarah Brown is leaving the role of Claudia behind in November.

David Gianopolous will be play Tommy Soto on October 5 and 6 to face the wrath of Sonny after Dominic accuses him of being a snitch.

Jamie Lea Willett will be appearing as Carly’s daughter in a dream sequence on October 5.

It has been officially confirmed that Sarah Brown (Claudia Zacchara) will be leaving the cast of General Hospital.

Brown made the following statements on the matter on her Twitter page:

“Claudia Zacchara has been a wild ride, every ride stops when the music ends. The music stops mid Oct.”

“It’s been nice being back at GH, but it’s time for the character to come to an end, at least for me.”

Molly Beucher and Derek Craigle will be playing Allison and Chad, tourists who have a run-in with Michael and Kristina on August 27 and 28.

Valerie Wildman will be playing Deidre. She’ll be investigated by Sam and Spinelli on September 3 and 4.

Irene Roseen will be playing a fortuneteller named Ramona when the carnival hits town on September 4 and 8.

Former “American Idol” contestant Chikezie Eze will be taping an appearance for the shows in mid-September and he will be singing.

Martha Byrne will be leaving the role of Andrea Floyd behind in September.
