The 2009 Hollywood Christmas Parade will include Daytime soap opera stars!

Presented by Coca-Cola, on Sunday November 29, at 6:00 PM, everyone will gather in Hollywood, California for the Hollywood Christmas Parade, which will be taped that night then aired nationally, twice, for a special Primetime event on MyNetworkTV on December 10, with an encore of the event to air on December 24 - Christmas Eve! Give yourself a Christmas present Disney style!

Christmas Day, December 25, is also the release of upcoming Disney movie, “Nine,” which is a Rob Marshall film about a famous film director Guido Contini and his struggle to find harmony in his professional and personal life. ABC will be promoting the movie with parts written into the storylines of such soap operas as All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital. If you do wish to check out the movie, before the release date, November 17, the movie’s theme song, “Be Italian,” will be used as a themed-danced number on Dancing With The Stars!

Feature film star James Franco (“Milk,” “Spiderman”) will be joining the cast of General Hospital.

As part of research for an upcoming film, the actor will be shooting a few days a week. So far, there are no specific details available about the role he will be playing but you can expect to see him on November 20. Speculation is that his arrival could also bring the return of alum Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett). Since the parade starts at 11:00 AM, you’ll want to check your local listings to find out if your show will be aired after the parade or not. Updated to add that we just got word that WNBC will air Days Of Our Lives at 3:04 AM, Saturday November 7. Days’ Mark Hapka (Nathan Horton) will be adding to this year’s Halloween spirit.

The actor has a role in a new pilot called “BOO.” It’s set to premiere on Friday October 30. Details about the show are being kept quiet, but you can always go over to Hapka’s Twitter page and shout “Boo” at him to see if he’ll spill a little. Former General Hospital star Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) takes a look at the life of soap stars for “Reality Bytes.”

Even if we haven’t seen him anywhere on Daytime lately, Rogers is still keeping in touch with that world. His latest project seeks to give “a balanced look at what goes on behind the scenes of a soap.” The idea for the series came from writer and web designer Kate Lange. Tristan is enthusiastic about the project, saying on his website that, “It endeavored to address many of the elements that are overlooked today and have always been part of the soap tradition.
