James Franco Joins The Cast of General Hospital. (Updated)

Feature film star James Franco (“Milk,” “Spiderman”) will be joining the cast of General Hospital.

As part of research for an upcoming film, the actor will be shooting a few days a week. So far, there are no specific details available about the role he will be playing but you can expect to see him on November 20. Speculation is that his arrival could also bring the return of alum Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett). Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) tweeted this response to a fan question about the two actors joining the show, “Franco is…don’t know about Vanessa.” Read the rest of this entry »

Celebratory Parade for World Series Champs Interrupts Soaps.

Those Yankie fans won’t mind a bit of an interruption with their soaps tomorrow but those who aren’t sport fans might have an issue!

Thanks to SoapOperaFan’s twitter friend, dovey2316, we’re able to tell fans in the New York area that some of your soap operas could be pre-empted.  In place of your soaps, you may see the celebratory parade for the World Series Champions, The New York Yankees. Since the parade starts at 11:00 AM, you’ll want to check your local listings to find out if your show will be aired after the parade or not. If your show isn’t aired afterward, we invite you to read our daily updates on Soaps.com for all soaps, or on Soap Opera Fan for Matt’s Days Of Our Lives update! Updated to add that we just got word that WNBC will air Days Of Our Lives at 3:04 AM, Saturday November 7. The Young and The Restless will air on its local network in New York City on Saturday at 3:07 AM followed by Bold and The Beautiful at 4:07 AM.

Catch Days of Our Lives’ Mark Hapka In Boo. (Updated)

Days’ Mark Hapka (Nathan Horton) will be adding to this year’s Halloween spirit.

The actor has a role in a new pilot called “BOO.” It’s set to premiere on Friday October 30. Details about the show are being kept quiet, but you can always go over to Hapka’s Twitter page and shout “Boo” at him to see if he’ll spill a little. Scott Reeves Joins The Cast Of General Hospital.

General Hospital Alum Tristan Rogers Takes A Look At Daytime. (Updated)

Former General Hospital star Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) takes a look at the life of soap stars for “Reality Bytes.”

Even if we haven’t seen him anywhere on Daytime lately, Rogers is still keeping in touch with that world. His latest project seeks to give “a balanced look at what goes on behind the scenes of a soap.” The idea for the series came from writer and web designer Kate Lange. Tristan is enthusiastic about the project, saying on his website that, “It endeavored to address many of the elements that are overlooked today and have always been part of the soap tradition. Greg Vaughn Is Out And Jonathan Jackson Returns To General Hospital. (Updated)

Or at least one thing. Former fan fave Jonathan Jackson is returning from his exile from Daytime to take back the role he left behind. This means that Greg Vaughn will be leaving the role of Lucky Spencer behind. On his Twitter page, the actor wrote, “”As of today, with sad regrets, I will no longer be apart of what has been a big part of me and my families life. General Hospital’s Ingo Rademacher Gets Married.

GH’s Ingo Rademacher (Jasper Jacks) married his fiancée, Ehiku, on October 3.

The actor joined the mother of his child, Peanut, for a small ceremony held in Malibu before the eyes of close friends and family. Ingo and his groomsmen road into the service on a golf cart while singing “Going to the Chapel” and then serenaded the bride to be from below the balcony.
