At The Floating Rib, Sonny pulled Connie away from kissing AJ. He explained that Alexis got a court order to pull the plug on Trey, so he could donate his organs. Connie left with Sonny, as AJ took a drunken Carly home. Except, Carly had him take her to Todd’s so she could get revenge on him by cutting up his clothes. Carly woke up the next day in Todd’s bed, to a half naked AJ. She was relieved to learn they didn’t sleep together. After AJ left, Felix stopped by to ask if they could rent the Metro Court ballroom for the Nurses’ Ball. After he helped boost Carly’s self-esteem, she donated the ballroom for free.

A couple of arrests, a sad goodbye and new alliances.

Dante arrested Todd and Johnny and placed them in the same cell. Todd tried to smother Johnny, but Dante’s presence put a stop to it. Carly then came to visit Todd as Diane accompanied Johnny to his arraignment. She told him she was done with him.

After Trey was declared brain dead at the hospital, Dante arrested a distraught Connie. Sonny bailed her out so she could see her son. After some pushing from Kristina, Connie decided to pull the plug on Trey. However, she changed her mind after saying an emotional goodbye to him. She slipped out of his room unnoticed.

A proposal and lots of lovemaking while lives hung in the balance.

Maxie convinced Ellie to meet Spin on the hospital roof but her car died and she was left stranded on the road. Meanwhile, a dog caused Maxie to fall and later she learned she had a miscarriage.

Britt deemed Starr fine after Connie’s attack, and Michael alerted Dante to Johnny’s kidnapping. Trey tried to tell Connie goodbye, but she took off with Johnny in the trunk. Michael, Trey, Kristina and Starr followed her down the same highway where Cole and Hope died. Connie tried to avoid Ellie, who was trying to find cell phone reception, but crashed her car anyway and Michael crashed right behind her. Everyone appeared unharmed and Starr found Connie hanging onto the edge of a cliff. She refused to help her until Johnny confessed to shooting out Anthony’s tires. They pulled Connie up, Michael found Ellie and Trey collapsed.

A first time, dates made for New Year’s and Nurses’ Ball plans.

For Christmas, Carly signed Michael’s ELQ shares over to him. As they talked, Starr overheard them discuss Michael’s prison stay. Once alone, Michael explained to Starr that he was raped in prison, but Abby helped him get through it. Starr thanked him for sharing his painful past with her and they slept together for the first time. Afterwards, they decided to stay home instead of having to decide which of Michael’s fathers they would spend the holiday with.

Lucy showed up at the Qs, where Monica informed AJ and Tracy that Alan’s ex-wife held one percent of ELQ stock. The two fawned over Lucy, which she clearly relished. Lucy later showed up at the hospital to inform Sabrina, Patrick and Britt that ELQ would be funding the Nurses’ Ball.

Renewed hope for the ball, the real Duke rescued and a bad week for Johnny.

Patrick found the DVD Robin made for him last Christmas. In it, she told him to move on and find someone new to love. He called Britt, who was trying to get advice about him from a resistant Elizabeth. Britt stole the Christmas DVD Elizabeth got for her kids and went to Patrick’s, claiming she bought the movie for Emma. They cuddled on the couch and watched it together.

Lucy was excited about resurrecting the Nurses’ Ball, but she was being investigated for allegedly running a pyramid scheme through CoeCoe. Her assets were frozen so she couldn’t help. Sabrina and Felix returned to Port Charles to tell Patrick the bad news. When an obnoxious Britt butted in, Felix claimed they were successful and Lucy was funding the ball. Sabrina started to tell Patrick the truth, but Lucy arrived declaring she was there to plan the event.

An unmasking, a vision and a beat down.

After getting caught up on Lucy Coe by Elizabeth, Sabrina learned Felix worked his way through nursing school by selling CoeCoe products. Lucy was his boss. Sabrina offered to cover his bedpan duties for a month if he could get her a meeting with Lucy. Meanwhile, Patrick thought about Robin when Britt asked to help him and Emma decorate for Christmas. When he went home, he saw a vision of Robin standing in the living room.

Upon gaining his freedom, AJ came to the boxing gym to taunt Sonny. They sparred in the ring. AJ antagonized Sonny about Michael until Sonny started seriously beating him. This of course was after AJ spotted a text from Michael to Sonny that he was on his way over. Michael arrived to see Sonny pummeling AJ. As Michael lashed out at Sonny, Starr took AJ to the hospital and implied he set the whole thing up. Later, Michael agreed to work at ELQ with AJ.

The baby plan got emotional, AJ gained his freedom and Faison revealed himself.

Agent Theodore King came to Tea’s house. He informed everyone that Agent Tomas Delgado had been called out of the country on a case. Carly showed him a photo of Lorenzo Alcazar, but King claimed not to know who he was. Blair, Tea and Skye set out to find Tomas, while Todd and Carly went back to Port Charles.

Despite Felicia’s concerns about the surrogacy, Maxie insisted she’d be able to emotionally handle giving the child up after nine months. Though still wary, Felicia offered her support. Maxie and Lulu underwent their first hormone treatments, which wreaked havoc on their emotions. It caused Maxie to get snippy with Spinelli and Ellie, who learned of the surrogacy, and Lulu to cry when Olivia told her she envisioned her with a puppy instead of a baby.

Maxie found purpose, Tomas might be Alcazar and Edward’s will was read.

Looking for purpose, Maxie offered to be Lulu and Dante’s surrogate. Lulu turned her down, but after disappointing interviews with two candidates, Dante and Lulu decided Maxie would be the perfect choice. When Dante and Lulu told Sonny and Olivia the good news, Olivia had a vision of Lulu holding a stuffed toy dog.

Ellie found a non-wedding photo of Spinelli and Maxie at the apartment. Spixie were forced to explain their history to a devastated Ellie. After Maxie left, Ellie wondered if Spinelli was still in love with Maxie. Spinelli assured her when it came down to it, he chose her and they made up.

The Qs said goodbye to their patriarch.

Despite Tracy setting him up to break the terms of his bail, Diane got A.J. released from custody and sent home with a new ankle monitor. As A.J., Tracy and Monica quarreled at the mansion, a nurse came down to tell them Edward’s heath was rapidly declining. Monica and Tracy went upstairs to say their goodbyes, but Tracy wouldn’t let A.J. see him. However, A.J. did call Michael, as well as Sam to bring baby Danny to see Edward. By the time Tracy let A.J. in to see him, Edward had passed away. Ned and Skye came home to help celebrate Edward’s life at Thanksgiving. Heather also snuck in the house after escaping from Ferncliff. She got a look at Edward’s will before Alice snuck up behind her and knocked her out. Heather was quickly taken back to Ferncliff, as the Qs continued their tradition of arguing before making up and sitting down to pizza. Back at Ferncliff, Heather said she knew something the Qs didn’t.

Returns, arrests and confessions of love.

At the Swiss Clinic, Robin was horrified to learn that Cesar Faison had been impersonating Duke Lavery. He vowed to win Anna’s love even if he had to be someone else to do it. Faison later visited another patient who was being held against their will: the real Duke Lavery. Duke had been feeding Faison his memories, with some well placed misinformation, which is how Robin discovered “Duke” was an imposter.

Dante and Lulu decided to pursue surrogacy as a way to become parents. Dante talked to Sonny about the financial hardship it would pose, leading Sonny to offer to loan them the money from his legitimate coffee business. Dante accepted, as long as Lulu agreed.
